Honda Civic Concept previewed for world debut in Detroit

Honda has released a preview illustration of the next generation Honda Civic.

To be unveiled in Detroit at the 2011 North American International Auto Show in concept form, the design sketch shows a sleek and aerodynamic profile strongly resembling the Honda CR-Z.

Although this sketch is showing what appears to be a three-door hatchback, prototypes of the Civic sedan version have been previously spied.

Engine options remain a bit of a mystery, but previous reports have indicated that the Civic may receive a new petrol and diesel mill. A dual-clutch transmission is also a possibility, but nothing is official as of yet.

Going into its ninth generation, the production version will go on-sale in spring 2011.
