Mitsubishi Evo goes down for the count in garage [video]

Evo spinning on a dyno falls off in this video

Accidents happen. Luckily, no one was hurt in this one.

Things start off normally (they always do) and then somehow the driver manages to trip the Mitsubishi Evo and have it fall off the dyno.

Hopefully, the garage and the vehicle owner and all parties involved have the proper insurance.

Racing a car while its wheels are spinning in place looks kind of dangerous. Shouldn't there be more safety features on a dyno?  Or was the vehicle not properly secured?

Looks to me the technician/driver steered to the left (newbie, perhaps?) which is a mistake - the steering wheel shall be undisturbed. But sh*t does happen, even with all the required safeguards. If you want to know your car real power/limits find a proper circuit, unused airport runway or O-ring! :-)

Aw man, what a waste of an Evo. :( It's funny how silly mistakes with tuned cars often involve a dynometer. (e.g. the Mustang which blew up)

I believe it was there indeed. If you concentrate in the environment of where the video was taken, you can hear some spanish in the background and a lot of people in a small bay. Had the opportunity to visited some technical colleges of the island, and this one looks likes the ones in AUTOMECA.
