Features a Caract?re body kit

Piecha Design has unveiled their new tuning program for the Mercedes E-Class Cabrio.

On the styling front, the convertible has been outfitted with a body kit called Caractére RS that consists of a front spoiler (€735), an aggressive rear diffuser (€785), and a three-piece rear spoiler (€430). Other goodies include side skirts with LED lights (€370), a four-tailpipe Quadro exhaust (starting at €1,385), 20-inch dp2 Phantom wheels (€1,690), and a revised roof module (€359) which allows the top to be raised or lowered at speeds up to 50 km/h (31 mph).

Lastly, Piecha also offers a power conversion (€357) which promises to deliver quicker shifts and "a very fast throttle response."

PIECHA DESIGN - An open-air, made-to-measure suit

Piecha Design, the Mercedes-Benz tuning specialist situated in Rottweil, is pleased to present made-to-measure tuning for the new E-Class convertible. All of the new design components underscore what are already the very elegant lines of the convertible model in Piecha's usual perfect style. There is a spoiler lip at the front of the car supplementing the standard AMG styling and adding to the sporting image. The same is true at the rear of this beautiful convertible, where a tail diffuser with a perfectly integrated 4-pipe sports exhaust system replaces the original standard element. The three-part spoiler lip on the boot lid, which harmonises perfectly with the design line, is not just an optical highlight but brings aerodynamic benefits. Piecha Design has come up with a real gem for the side skirts in the shape of an integrated LED lighting system, which can be fitted as an extra to all Mercedes-Benz cars.

In terms of emission control, Piecha Design has turned to its popular Quadro series system. The 4-pipe exhaust sub-systems are available for all 4-, 6- and 8-cylinder engines, for convertible and coupé models alike. There is also an exhaust system conversion kit which allows two oval chrome tail pipe sections to be simply welded onto the standard sound absorbers.

Piecha dp2 Phantom

Piecha's own brand 19-inch dp2 Phantom wheels are responsible for the contact with the road surface. The 8-spoke rim with its multi-element look and high-gloss polished stainless steel base is a real eye-catcher. With 8.5 x 19-inch, 235/35 R19 tyres at front and 9.5 x 19-inch, 275/30 R19 tyres at the rear, this wheel combination fills the wheel arches as they should in a car of this class. A power converter that can fully cancel out any slow reaction time is available for the convertible as well as for many other Mercedes models with an electronic accelerator. This now allows noticeable, powerful acceleration even from an idling speed and, thanks to a separate control, can be switched between standard mode, urban-driving mode and sports mode. A fine adjustment feature using a potentiometer enables it to be adapted to match the particular type of vehicle and the driver's own driving style.

The comfort Vario roof module was developed as a simple plug-and-play solution for the E-Class convertible. This module makes it possible to open and close the Vario roof while driving at speeds of up to 50 kph using the standard car key without having to hold the switch or car key pressed all the time.
