Bolder and more beautiful

The 2011 Chrysler 300 has been given an early unveiling thanks to the folks over at Motor Trend.

Decidedly more elegant than its processor, the redesigned 300 adopts Chrysler's new grille, LED-infused headlights, and numerous chrome accents. The overall shape remains familiar, but there's a more steeply raked windscreen, stylish new bodywork, and more prominent wheel arches.

No interior pictures were released, but the cabin boasts soft-touch plastics, wood trim, and additional sound deadening material. Furthermore, new options include heated / cooled seats, a two-piece sunroof, and a Garmin navigation system with an 8.4-inch screen.

Like the Dodge Charger, the Chrysler 300 will be available with two engines.  The 3.6-liter V6 will produce 292 hp (218 kW / 296 PS) and 260 lb-ft (353 Nm) of torque, while the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 will crank out 370 hp (276 kW / 375 PS) and 395 lb-ft (536 Nm). Both will be connected to a five-speed automatic transmission which sends power to the rear wheels (all-wheel drive will be optional).

Chrysler will likely release official information shortly, but in the meantime head over to Motor Trend to see more pictures.

Sorry, but a 5-speed automatic transmission in a new 2011 upper class car is not acceptable! Sounds again like using old Mercedes W210 technology (built from 1995-2002).

Who said this is a "upper class car"? Oh and 6 speed is now standard in most econoboxes so as usual Chrysler is way behind th 8 ball

The "new" 300c looks very much like the old one with the corners sanded down so its less square and new lights! Not good enough Chrysler try again.

Not much of a re-haul in the looks department, that being said though, it didn't really need one. The deciding factor for the 300 is the interior.

oh, I'm the first one that think: nice made! Yes, it's a nice car. The front needs a bit more characteristical accents like the old 300C. but rest is great. It will find it's clientel and will have success. A 5-speed-automatic fit the car I think. Oh, and Fiat has nothing to do with development of the 300C! First think about what you say!
