Official 2012 Audi A6 photos leaked
2012 Audi A6, 1024, 30.11.2010

We interrupt our dinner to bring you these leaked images of the all new Audi A6 for 2012.

Leaked/hacked from an unprotected print magazine's web site, Autoblog.nl brings us these finely watermarked photos one day before official A6 materials are to be released.

Showing an almost identical silhouette to the current generation A6, the 2012 model bears an indistinguishable front end from the rest of the Audi model range - particularly the A7.

First details to accompany these images include a 2.8 FSI engine with 208 HP followed by a 3.0 TFSI with 300 HP.  The ever popular 2.0-liter four-cylinder will provide 163 HP or 177 HP while the 3.0 TDI also gives a choice of 204 HP or 245 HP.

We wait until official details are released tomorrow.  In the meantime, browse the photos with a discerning eye and try and figure out the differences between the A4 and A8 models as well as the current A6.

Boring except for the interior , nice headlights and rims too. why are german auto manufacturers always trying to make boring cars and making the small one (ex 3-series,c-class,a4) look exactly like the bigger one (5-series, e-class,a6) and like the biggest (7,s,a8)!! this is stupid IMO

Hm..C class looks like E ..Never heard that one before..

C was launched BEFORE the E, so how could it have been made to look like its bigger brother???? (not that is does!)

This Audi A6 is a failure. From the front, if I didn;t pay too much attention, I would have thought that I was looking at the front of the new A1. The lights are nothing amazing either and is the same old tasteless use of LEDs. The lower part of the bumper with those enlarged airdams are also boring as seen on every other Audi?s and creates an evil, ghost like image for the car. Clearly the car is also less sporty as compared to the BMW 5 with a very upright windscreen that is out of proportion with what a sports sedan should look like. The back is just plain UGLY. Look at that line in the middle, which is far too low and reminds me of a VW Jetta. Even though this is a VW, VW could have made this Audi look more premium instead of making them look alike. It is evident that Audi has copied BMW?s use of light tubes and are now putting it in its products. Lack of creativity. Furthermore, the rear lights look terrible as it forms the edges, creating a very cheap image for the rear, just like the Q5. As for the interior, nice try. but it is clear that the attempt to match BMW?s interior class and attempt to copy BMW?s interior has failed. It is clear from the above that BMW has a much better interior in terms of quality, style and design. When I look at the two interiors, Audi?s interior is screaming CHEAPNESS to me. Look at the poor quality foor pannels ? look at that plastic door handle and how tasteless the trim ends at the front oart of the panel with black plastic covering the rest of the upper part! As for teh dash, I don?t like these sharp wierdly shaped airvents with this ugly woodtrim that?s so splashy and fat, really unprofessional and non-business like. I would expect this type of design in a Hyundai Sonata. The Centre Console also signifies cheapness. That gearlever is so yesterday and those buttons (engine start stop and MMI controler) are just cheap quality. BMW is the clear leader by far in terms of interior deisng and quality. That flimsy cheap screen is out of proportion as well, way oversized and feels like it could break easily with a small knock. It also has no back support. NONO! Absolutely tasteless ? like an after thought/ after market fitment. From the side, the rear lights look terrible with its protruding bug eyes, absolute lack of class! Am I looking at a red-eyed fly there??? If I knew less, I wouldn?t be able to tell the difference between this, the A4, A8 and other VW sedans. It is boring as hell from the side too. So to sum up my rating: This is a car that is extremely boring, the interior lacks quality and the interior design resembles those of upmarket Hyundais. Rating: Audi A6: (Out of 10) Exterior (front) ? 5 Exterior (Side) ? 4 Exterior (rear) ? 5 Interior ? 4 Mercedes E Class: Exterior (front) ? 7 Exterior (Side) ? 4 Exterior (rear) ? 3 Interior ? 2 (sorry about this, but with an interior of a Toyota, this is what the E Class deserves) BMW 5 Series: Exterior (front) ? 6 Exterior (Side) ? 7 Exterior (rear) ? 7 Interior ? 10 So well done BMW 5!

Do you want this to compete with the new 5-Series or the new E-Class you must be kidding?! this is just below the slandered i was expecting from Audi. All the new Audi cars look the same with no unique flavor. The question that we need to ask is that why is Audi going this way with all their new cars.

MEH!! given that it has the same interior as the A7, which is brilliant, i don't see why anybody would choose the A7 over the A6...the car looks predictable and bland, but I dont think anybody was expecting audi to throw a curve ball with the A6's design.

yet no one sees the bmw centre stack cues here too? i was really hoping to see a diff a6 but as said again a predictable throw. and giving the face and angry look like the lancer is never gonna look sensible. the e and 5 can sigh in relief

Even though I think it looks just like the A7 and A8, I must say the headlights on this look extremely hot. Not a fan of full-LED lights but Audi have really managed to pull it off successfully on the A6.

Unfortunatly, it's ugly like A7 and A8. These LED-headlight haven't soul. It's like a big A4.

Ok, like everyone, I'm disappointed with the external design. It doesnt leap out at you and say "drive me"! Having said that, on a wet winters night driving across the north of England, kids in the back.. with that stunning interior, coupled to a decent engine and Audis legendary quattro 4WD, I cannot think of a car I would rather be in and feel safe in. Except perhaps, the A8, ot the A7, or maybe an A5 Sportback... but isnt that an A7???!!!

I know this isn't an exciting car but it's not like I'm always trying to have fun in the car while driving everyday, mostly I enjoy something that can cruise relatively fast easily safe and confortably, and I think with that interior and the AWD this is the best choice.

I agree wit u. And ts not lyk the people who buy in this segment are the hooligan street racer type. For an elegent executive car its good

Seriously... What`s going on with Audi? Looks exactly like a big A4 and a small A8... exactly the same! Oh my...boring, bland design... What a shame

People must be blind if they think all of Audis models look the same. IMO the new A6 is the prettiest of all of Audis current models. Much better than BMW's latest 5-series or Mercedes E-class. I didn't like the previous interior, but this one looks excellent.

Finally, somebody with some sense. Aside from the new 6er, Audi is producing the best looking cars of the big three.

uhm... this car def looks like a big A4... or a small A8, im not sure, either weigh, it looks nice, but I saw a new 5er on the road yesterday, I like it better

@Paulds: Oh of course. Naturally, because I think the Audi designs are better looking than the others, the only logical conclusion must be that I work for Audi. Quite frankly, I think that people who think all Audis look the same just don't have the eye to appreciate the subtleties that distinguish different designs. The only two that actually look alike are the A4 and the A5. The others are different in many ways. The differences are not blatant, but they are certainly present, and there are many of them. The Benz E and C and the BMW 5er and 3er look a lot more alike to one another and have a lot more similarities than the A4 and the A6 do. Go ahead and attack me for that last claim, but I'm still going to think you're wrong.

Ya... All AUDIs do look the same...can't tell the difference between one segment and the other. Mitsubishi Lancer headlights...really...even the Lancer looks outdated now... AUDI will never be as sexy as BMWs or Mercs are...they can try but they end up looking like a Drag Queen instead...

dbehmoaras, the comment was for taliz... anyway, I respect all comments, still for me is very, very similar to the A4 and A8, specially in the back and silhouette!

Well done Audi, predicted design but very nice. Rims showed on the pictures are superb. Great exterior and interior quality, hope they are going to make an S6 or RS6 version sooner than last one.

The front incl. the lights are from the Sportback concept, tht was shown 2 years ago: http://autoworld.files.wordpress.com/2009/01/audi-a7-sportback-concept-live-at-2009-detroit-auto-show-img_10.jpg

At first sight I thought it is some new Mitsubishi model. But no it's A6. Finally something fresh apart from current style which makes all model range looking the same. But unfotunately the back is very predictible and rather disappointing. After presenting new A8 I guess many of us thought that Audi will not make another similar mistake. So, although it's not a big surprise, I have positive feelings ;)

This is a beautiful car. It's simple, clean, elegant, and refined. Audi has found their new design language, and they are going to stick with it for this year's model revisions. It's a very smart move, as Audi design is now unmistakable regardless of what model you are looking at. Audi isn't a "LET ME GET IN YO FACE" company. They have been known for minimalistic designs. That is Audi. Ugly is a matter of personal taste, but you can't honestly call this ugly without calling all of Audi's designs ugly as well. Like I said, the new A6 is an improvement over the past A6. It's not a revolutionary product, but simple design is never going to be revolutionary.
