Audi Quattro video - old meets the new [videos]

Video shows new Audi Quattro out for a drive and meeting up with a classic 1984 Audi Sport Quattro

Here's a video of the new Audi Quattro out for some air, on what looks like the Pacific Coast Highway in California (as it was spotted in that area just last week), and meeting up with the classic 1984 Audi Sport Quattro of old.

The video gives us a closer look at a production-ready model of the Quattro and its interior. Inside the cabin, Audi seems to have really balanced tradition with modern design. The cockpit has a slender, classic, uncluttered feel which is helped by the fully digital instrument panel. But the technology is new, with carbon components and a lightweight aluminum construction which keeps the weight down on the new Quattro to what it was over 25 years ago.

The Quattro concept that Audi debuted at the Paris motor show two months ago features, as does the model in the video here, a 2.5-liter five-cylinder TFSI engine with 300 kW (408 PS / 402 hp) and 480 Nm (354 lb-ft) of torque. The 1,300 kg (2,866 lbs) Quattro coupe goes from 0 to 100 km/h in an easy 3.9 seconds.

The Audi Quattro will likely make it to production by 2012 or so, but limited to a small number of units per year.

Are you trolling or something (or attempting to)? Have you seen cars before? Those things out on the roads zooming around? You could almost be forgiven for not making the connection between them since this car is so gorgeous that it hardly deserves to be lumped in the same category as the vast majority of what's on the road these days. This car is stunning and anyone with an ounce of real knowledge or appreciation of automotive design would be able to appreciate the work of Audi's design team, and contribute something other than calling it "ugly". If you think this is ugly what do you think is beautiful? The '09 Chrysler Sebring?

I agree JPMac. Audi makes some of the most soul-less looking cars ever made. Banglefan350, alfa romeo 8c's are beautiful, maserati gran turismo's are beautiful, not these. WAY too german looking

And we're supposed to take negative comments from someone with that username seriously? I suppose the R8 GT is extremely bland and GERMAN, oh and the SL65 AMG Black Series is so boring looking I fall asleep watching it. Point is, your both a bit cracked in the head.

The original Quattro was never described as a pretty or beautiful car. That doesn't make it any less attractive. People are queuing up for this baby.

On the whole I like it, but I have a few niggles with those stupid lights.... BUT it can't be an Audi, as it doesn't look like all the other Audi models..... ;-)

Not trolling at all. I think the car is seriously ugly. The side swage of a A5 with the front of what can only be described as looking like a cylons helmet! Not doubting it would be great to drive but that front end is just horrid. And certainly not at 200,000 euros. And no, I own neither an Ipad nor a Fiat 500.

I'd say 1300kg isn't light, common this is a small car. Still awsome though.
