A6 teaser video from Audi TV

New teaser video from Audi shows a few of the new design lines of the upcoming next-generation A6

Here's a very brief and not terribly revealing teaser video released by Audi for the upcoming next-generation Audi A6.

We get to see some hints of its overall shape and get a glimpse at some of its new design lines.

The good news is that Audi will be releasing more details, and hopefully, more images, this week (December 1st).

With the A6 slated to go into production before the end of the year, there's not much more time left for it to hide in the shadows. A full product release is expected early in 2011.

The next-generation A6 will be built at Audi's Neckarsulm plant alongside sibling models such as the A8, A8 L (extended-wheelbase), the A7 Sportback and the R8 Spyder.

The next-generation A6 is a very important launch for the premium German brand and for the VW Group in general. The mid-level sedan accounts for a huge chunk of Audi's revenue and Audi has been the largest profit earner in the VW Group as of late, with the German automaker counting on its Ingolstadt-based premium brand to deliver the goods for the company's bottom line.

No doubt it will be like the other Audi's at the moment.. nice but just a bit bland and dull.... leaving feel a little remote and uninspired.

No the R8 in any of its versions cant be put in the same class as the rest of there cars. The "normal" cars they make are good... just a bit dull....

Sorry but if dullness is what we are talking about then Audi is certainly in front of the pack, they all look the same. Like it as much as u want but u have to admit, ure never excited about a new audi cause u already know what its gonna look like, a bigger A4 or a smaller A8...lol

The Audi design language is terrific. What most of the comments above seem to be saying, is that they would prefer to have more to complain about. Audi got it right with the A4, TT, R8 and Q series. Its kind of like buying a pair of expensive shoes...once you have chosen the perfect style, now it's time to get a pair that fits.

Word bro! People don't get that a manufacturers design language should be similar on most of their models. You can always tell that it is an Audi, that is the whole point. On the other hand, if you like cars more than the average human being (guess all of you do, since you are hanging out on this site) you can easily tell an A4 from an A6, or A7 or A8. And even if you guys posted over here thinks its dull, take a look at BMW and Merc.. Same thing there.

I think it will have a beautiful rear end...unlike the A7 and A8. I'm referring especially to the taillights...on the A8 and A7...they're somehow plain, 2D (hope you know what i mean)...this i think will have "3D looking" taillights...like for example the TT.

I think it is going to be a nice car. Waiting for an Avant rather than sedan. In fact Audi, Mercedes and BMW design is so predictible that we actually know that it will have a8 front and A7/A8 rear, and A7/A8 interior. The same is with BMW 5-Series and Mercedes E-Class. It is good for loyal brand customers, who don't want to be suprised by some unpredicted design.

A7 = bland hatchback, A5 Sportback = smaller bland hatchback. A4 is ok, A8 is ok but should've been better, A3 = Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, A5 coupe is a good looking car, R8 is stunning and Q7 is bland. I like Audi for what they are trying to achieve....I just think they should consider doing a once off rear wheel drive car because most people find their cars boring to drive. The lesser Audis are front wheel drive.....so it is basically a VW with a different badge with the same engine/drivetrain.

A7's only failing for me is the overly low tail, otherwise it looks great, nose is what A8 SHOULD have looked like. I love most of the Audi range. BMW on the other hand, is slowly DeBangling- new 5 series is great, 3 coupe beautiful, new 6 looks quite cool. Rest? Pass. I'm hoping this new A6 is good, I prefer older A8 to latest slab sided one ;/

Hope the new A6 has a bit more character than the old 1 which was a nice car. Seems like people don't lyk the current design language but lets not forget that Audi is selling more cars now than some years back...so they must b doin something right
