Opel confirms Calibra revival
Audi A5 competitor?
Nick Reilly, the President of GM Europe, has confirmed Opel will resurrect the Calibra coupe.
Details are limited, but the model will be a 2+2 with styling inspired by the GTC Concept which debuted at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show.
Likely to be based on the Insignia, the Calibra will offer a variety of petrol and diesel engines. Furthermore, the range-topping OPC variant is expected to have all-wheel drive and a turbocharged 2.8-liter V6 with 321 hp (239 kW / 325 PS) and 321 lb-ft (435 Nm) of torque.
No word on when it will be launched, but we're already looking forward to it.

Bring this car to America as a Cadillac, jazz up that plastic interior with finer materials, and you have an A5/S5 competitor. V series on this thing would rule!

Finally! What OPEL needs most is a car with passion to improve the image. And, well, yes, they need money (and a profit)!

I'm loving everything Opel right now. Their entire line is definitely up to compete with most all other European manufacturers.

Finally an Opel sports car with some class. It's been years I ve been wishing for the revival of the Monza, but the Calibra will also do.

This car rather wouldn't be an A5 competitor but at least as an A5-class could be a great propostion for people who cannot afford Audi but want to have a stylish coupe. I'm really glad that the legend is coming back :-)
