Inching closer to production

After being spied undisguised during a photo shoot, Chrysler has launched a new teaser website for the 2011 300 sedan.

Looking bolder than ever before, the car features a distinctive grille, LED-infused headlights, and numerous chrome accents.

While we can't see much of the interior, the 2011 model will have an improved design and higher quality materials. In particular, the leather seems more substantial and the gauge cluster is undeniably elegant thanks to blue lighting.

Under the hood, two engines will be available. The base 3.6-liter V6 will produce 292 hp (218 kW / 296 PS) and 260 lb-ft (353 Nm) of torque. Or perhaps the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 cranking out 370 hp (276 kW / 375 PS) and 395 lb-ft (536 Nm) might tickle your fancy. Regardless of what engine is selected, it will be mated to a five-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive (all-wheel drive will be optional).

The car is slated to be unveiled at Detroit's North America International Auto Show, in January, so stay tuned for continuing coverage.

That's the headlight you get if you combine the one from Audi A3 with the one from A8....but they got it all wrong...it's ugly!

Fully agree. It would be nice to see theses American companies come up with their own designs, instead of taking cues from what works for other companies...weak!

Four wheel drive as an option... interesting. But that's about it.

5 speeds is not enough nowadays, six is. Why only two enigne choices? To me it looks like it's mostly the interior that's better, cause looking at the spy shots I've seen the old one looked better.

I wish more car companies used LCD screens, then you could customize what you wanted to see everyday like your computer or cell phone.(tachometer, speedo display etc.)

You think they could've done something more imaginative with the LED's than an Audi knock-off. Can't get remotely excited about this car. It's time has come and gone.

Ok, it's offical. I hate LED headlights. the LED fog lights like on the Mercs, and Audi are fine. but that's it. I hate them now.

Totally agree!! It's a shame Mercedes followed Audi, and thumbs up to BMW for not doing so!

Like the instrument cluster..... and sadly the LED's are law... all cars have to have DTR's now... just very sad when you see them stuck on with tape on the front of an '89 escort!

Everyone snubs Audi for their LEDs but yet follow the same design theme.
