Audi A7 Berlin poster ad in the making [video]

Video shows the making of a large, hand-painted poster ad for the A7 near the former Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin

This video from Audi TV shows the making of an ad for the new A7 going up in Berlin.

The footage shows the artists at work hand-painting the poster ad with spray paint on a very large white canvass before the Berlin crowds around the former Checkpoint Charlie.

It took the four artist 14 days and 200 cans of spray paint to make the ad.

The ad text translates as: "Nothing is as inspiring as a blank sheet of paper. It is the opportunity to create something original."

And the way this ad was made is the original piece of work. The A7 Sportback we've seen before.

The A7 is a badly thought out model...it's not attractive to look at and because it is a hatchback the chassis flexes a bit when driven enthusiastically. I like Audi as a company and I really hope they get the look of future cars right...like the way the R8 is stunning because the A7 is disappointing and the A8 isn't much better. The forthcoming A6 is going to have to be mighty good as the Merc E-Class and BMW 5 Series are!

Would agree with you re:A8 but you're way off on the A7. This is a painfully handsome car. And the current A6 seems to have it over the next E-series and 5-series so I don't think there's much worry the new one being able to punch in it's weight class.

The A7 and A5 Sportback are similar, true, but it is the othr way around, The A7 as the sportback concept came out BEFORE the A5 Sportback. They took the idea of the Sportback Concept and made the A5 Sportback later. anyway, i think the hatch concept is better than the CLS. The CLS has no advantage over a regular E-class, still it is more expensive. the A7 has a hatch which makes it attractive to people who want more versatility combined but with that touch of sexiness and it is much more attractive than the 5series GT.

I thought I was going to see some real creativity, but they've just gone the long way about doing a normal advert. I hope Banksy turns up at night and f*cks it all up by drawing a giant penis up there!

It is big enough to hide entire MB or BMW showroom behind. They hide checkpoint Charlie instead. From whom? Fools.

How many hybrids will they need to sell now to offset the carbon emmisions produced from 200 cans of spray paint.

All those spray cans, how environmentally friendly, especially when they could have just printed the damn thing!
