Aston Martin unveils the Rapide Luxe
Aston Martin Rapide Luxe edition

Exclusivity redefined

Is the Aston Martin Rapide a little too plebeian for you? Do you want something more luxurious? If so, prepare to whip out your checkbook as the company has unveiled the Rapide Luxe special edition.

Available in a variety of exclusive colors, the Luxe boasts a bright finish grille and 20-inch alloy wheels with Bridgestone Potenza tires.

Despite the modest exterior tweaks, the cabin is elegantly appointed with custom leather upholstery, Walnut wood trim, a rear seat entertainment system, and a 1000 watt Bang & Olufsen audio system. Other goodies include heated / cooled seats, glass switchgear, and a six-piece luggage set which matches the interior.

Like the regular model, power is provided by a 6.0-liter V12 engine with 470 bhp (477 PS / 350 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a six-speed Touchtronic 2 transmission which allows the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.1 seconds (0-100 km/h in 5.3 seconds) and hit an estimated top speed of 188 mph (303 km/h).

No word on pricing, but if you have to ask...

Another Aston Martin marketing trick for stupid customers who are going to buy everything what A.M. is going to serve no matter how ridiculous it would be

Not that this wouldn't be a beautiful car - but so much money for 470 PS, where others in the same class give you up to 600+ like Mercedes AMG or Bentley...

You can kill yourself in a 200 hp car if you are a poor driver, and can enjoy the the same car if you are an excellent driver. Horsepower isn't all above!

It does not need 600 hp as it has a aluminum space frame and therefore much lighter than the mostly steel MB or Bentley

 M! M!
this 4 door is gorgeous (the concept was better). if the pricing of the package is better than individual options, then it is a good deal for buyers who spec out these options anyways.

This car is dated already and too slow - look at it this way, this car would have a lot of trouble shaking off a BMW 335i or Cayman S fron a standing start....throw in 2 fat passengers and you are gonna get burned - not that that is the point in a car like this but when you have spent 100K in the first place you might still have some pride swallowing to do with every little boy racer trying to take a pop at the guy in the Aston. 0-100km/h in 5.3 is not fast enough. Aston.....the game has moved on. New modern design and more power please.

Hard to make this car prettier, I think it's even better than the concept

Gentleman's interior; bespoke class. Though the acceleration times contradict the model name of the car, dated and speed are words that cannot be used to define this car. This Rapide Luxe is about a luxury cruiser rather than a bruiser. It's timeless in my opinion as the DB7 was despite questionable Ford parts-bin switches on the dashboard. A future classic.
