Lamborghini greenlights Sesto Elemento for limited production
Lamborghini Sesto Elemento Concept

Sesto Elemento series will be limited to under 12 units

Lamborghini has given the greenlight to the Sesto Elemento (Sixth Element) for a limited series production, according to the reputable French automotive program Auto Moto's website.

But it will be a very limited series - between 7 and 10 exemplars will be built.

The Sesto Elemento debuted at the Paris auto show with a very impressive, if seemingly excessive, concept show car which featured a naturally-aspirated 5.2 liter V10 engine from the LP 570-4 Superleggera with 570 PS (419 kW / 562 bhp). The car has a curb weight of just 999 kg due to its extensive use of carbon and carbon-fiber reinforced plastics which includes a carbon-fiber monocoque structure.

The Sesto Elemento comes with a permanent all-wheel drive transmission and a power-to-weight ratio of 1.75 kilograms per horsepower. The 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint time clocks in at 2.5 seconds, while top speed will be well above 300 km/h (186 mph) - reported as 350 km/h (217.5 mph) prior to the Paris unveiling.

The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento will be priced at around €2.5 million/$3.44 million/£2.15 million.

Lambo vying for exclusive rights as Ferrari with that price tag; quite simply ludicrous! However, great name, great design and great performance figures. Can't wait to hear that engine sing to my ears at full chat!

I don't think it looks so great, the normal gallardo looks better. But it's more about the technical stuff.

caparo T1 is for track only, this lambo with awd has F1 performance so you can use that power in real life, the price is not so high.

i wouldn't call someone who can afford €2.5M spare change stupid, but certainly there are many other options at that price point. I am sure for that price, Pagani would be happy do to an one-off, in any color or finish and spec of your choice. and for a little more money, perhaps pininfarina will do another one off like the P4/5 for you too.

I just thought this is a concept car like the Millechille and wouldn't be produced. But now I'm like wow. And it's acceleration numbers rival that of the bugatti veyron

And, by the way, I actually saw that concept in Paris, and don't get me wrong, I loved it, I found it stunning. Only I think it ought to remain a dream car, orelse it'll lose much of its appeal.

Really, those hypercar manufacturers should really keep an eye on what exclusivity really is. For a brand I mean. What's the point of making an irrealistic Conccept car if you're to put it, not on the road, obviously, but in some cheik's garage ? Concept cars are not to be taken onto the open road, unless it is realistic (like, for instance, the Peugeot 308 RCZ was), which this isn't. I really find it a pity that Lambo don't keep the one-off unbuyableness of a concept car. That's real exclusivity : not selling it at all.

I like both of the designs but like the reventon looks like a modified murcielago (to a point) this looks like a hard edged update of the old countach. but what's the point of producing it if they are only making so few and for so much. just doesn't make sense to me.

Glad they're charging way too much for it and limited it only 12 units. I found this car quite ugly. stunning, but ugly like the Reventon before haters attack me, I saw a Reventon Roadster in Goodwood Festival Of Speed 2010
