Driver backs Bugatti Veyron into another car [video]

Bugatti Veyron sustains $30,000 (?21,600) in damages in minor collision caught on video

Novice driver or does Bugatti need to improve the rear-view technology on its ultra-expensive Veyron model?

The video here was shot by an onlooker, likely on a mobile phone camera, and was posted on luxury classifieds site James List.

According to their corresponding blog, James Spotting, the setting is Bentley Gold Coast dealership in Chicago and the particular Bugatti Veyron on hand is a 2008 Veyron 16.4. At the wheel of the Veyron is someone trying to take the car out for a test drive. The man seen scurrying about in the black suit is a dealership salesman.

Although, the video seems pretty uneventful, according to James Spotting, the car sustained damages totaling around $30,000 (€21,600), including the scrap to the front fender lip as the driver pulled forward again after the minor collision with the Toyota.

The car is still listed on the Bentley Gold Coast website as up for sale. So the driver may have opted for something a little less expensive to repair.

I actually live in Chicago and stopped by Bentley Gold Coast a couple of weeks ago. They had none last time I visited and it seems like the only one they have in inventory is the one featured in this article. As for your second question, I'm sure there is at least one exotic car dealership in the vicinity of every major city (Chicago, Houston, New york, etc.) Here is a link to the Bugatti on Bentley Gold Coast's website: http://www.bentleygoldcoast.com/2008-bugatti-veyron-16.4--c-935.htm

well now...driver was probably heading for the nearest laundry shop to pick up his suit and would have surely burned 20 litres of fuel in the process.

the (test)driver surely needed that extra downforce ,the rear extended wing produces , to get the car out of the parking. What a nerd !

Any guy who reverses a Veyron into another car in a showroom is a tw@ - I could maybe understand if he was doing 150 mph down a motorway and someone pulled out in front of him and he hit the back of them but this! I hope they send him the invoice with a complimentary slip and bill him for the complimentary slip also. Throw in an admin fee of 20 dollars while they are at it.

could have fed an entire african village for the price of the repairs, but fuck the africans eh? as long as he gets to drive home to his wife (or mistress), that's all that matters!

$30k for paint, ouch. But then again, the driver must have his pockets loaded.

My advice: admitt nothing, take no responsibility, make counter claims. Of course, gotta love the rear panoramic views when backing up in a Veyron. I mean just the sense of entitlement alone in feeling like you never have to look in back of you has to be amazing. This was probably a prime example. I'm sure the engineers thought of everything when creating this beast except for the driving IQ of those rich enough to buy one. Back up cam, anyone?
