A new Stig is born [video]
A replacement for Ben Collins
As a new season approaches, the world's foremost motoring program has selected a replacement for Ben Collins.
While Top Gear will keep the Stig's identity a secret, Jeremy Clarkson mocked Collins' outing himself by saying "Hysterically, some Stigs think they can write books but that's never a good idea." This, of course, is a swipe at Collins' autobiography The Man in the White Suit: The Stig, Le Mans, the Fast Lane and Me.
So feel free to speculate on who the new Stig is, UK bookies already are.

The Stig wrote his own book.....fair play to him for milking his moment to earn a little bit of extra wedge - who wouldn't in these times! Easy for JC to slag him off when he is taking in a 7 figure salary every year.

It doesn't really matter what Clarkson gets paid. The role of the Stig is to be anonymous. I guess being an international superstar wasn't worth it for him if he couldn't tell anyone about it. It's not easy being Superman or Batman.

Being an anonymous international superstar doesn't put food on the table. David Prouse came out as Darth Vader to make some extra cash and no one is slagging him. JC is fabulously wealthy and its easy for the rich and comfortable to mock those just trying to getting a little something. Collins haters are the same people who look to Clarkson for scientific guidance.

I think it will be a pilot that is not very busy racing in competitions...so, since Rubens is not getting out of F1 i can't agree with you. :)

Yeah I agree with you. It could still be the Collins and they hide his identity again. Tiff though, well it's possible, but we'll see in the coming series, as Tiff loves to hang out the arse of all cars and make lots of smoke.

Does it really matters who the new Stig is? Stig is Stig. It doesn't matter who is behind the helmet. The character in Top Gear is Stig. I think that should be the point.

The TG mystique was given by The Stig's anonymity but that is now lost with the 'expose' in his autobiography.
