Caught during a photo shoot

Our spies have managed to catch the 2011 Chrysler 300C undisguised during a photo shoot.

Looking more elegant than ever before, the car features LED-infused headlights, a new grille, and prominent wheel arches. Out back, there's an integrated spoiler, distinctive taillights, and lots of chrome detailing on the front bumper, grille, reveal moldings, side mirror housings, door handles and rear bumper.

While our sleuths didn't get close enough to snap interior pictures, Chrysler has previously released a rendering of the cabin which showed an improved design with higher quality materials.

Under the hood, engine options will include a 3.6-liter V6 and a 5.7-liter V8. Official specifications haven't been released, but the V6 will likely produce 283 hp (211 kW / 287 PS) and 260 lb-ft (352 Nm) while the V8 will churn out 379 hp (283 kW / 384 PS) and 410 lb-ft (555 Nm) of torque. Later on, an SRT8 version will debut with a 6.4-liter V8 packing 470 hp (350 kW / 477 PS) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque.

The car will likely be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show, so expect to learn more in the coming months.

The Audi A8 wants his grill and headlights back.

I see Chrysler still has not gotten over the chrome phase yet. Those taillights look like cheap aftermarkets with gaudy chrome inserts. Besides that I'll admit that some of the new details create a pretty neat overall package although the basic design doesn't seem to have changed much.

I think it looks pretty good. On the chrome: I kind of wish that chrome would come back, but it should be executed a little better. The problem is that they seem to be putting the chrome in the wrong places. I think they should look back at the Imperial concept they did several years ago. May not have been the prettiest machine, but it did the chrome thing rather well.

Can someone please explain what is this whole deal with chrome on American cars? Chrome makes them look cheap and ugly. Ford did the same thing on the fiesta... they added chromed plastic in front. And don't make me start on the Cadillacs... PLEASE US MFRS STOP USING CHROME ON YOUR CARS!!!

C'mon guys. The chrome looks good in this car. If it's real chrome, of course! But been Chrysler, I'm pretty sure is the cheap plastic, and the excuse is to save weight. I like the car. It's not a revolution, or evolution of the original. It's more a refresh and update. Call it the Chrysler 300C v1.5. It doesn't look new, it doesn't look original, but I like it! Still, I'll prefer the Hyundai Genesis sedan over this...

There is a heavily influence of the audi cars in it, australia wont get the car until a year later apparently. The rims are copied design from another car company

This would have looked decent. Ten years ago. I seriously don't know what's going on at the Chrysler design room. The next-gen Grand Cherokee and the Durango are pretty and reasonably elegant, but this, I don't even know where to start. It looks outdated, unoriginal, saturated with chrome, and incredibly incongruous.

Its almost very nice, the headlamps are so much better....the chrome is hideous. You want to show you're about luxury, do it subtly with well appointed interiors, amenities and other simple but effective ploys...the chrome just looks cheap/gaudy and overdone.

The 300c has officially been Chryslerfied! And that's not a good thing. True, the front end does look like it has some Audi influence in it (bye, bye, poor man's Bentley), but it also looks like the front of their Town & Country minivan. Everything else is just bland. It seems they took the easy/safe/lazy approach by replacing the original's edgier lines with rounded contours, but in the process, lost something. No, I don't like it.

I would have gone for a dark, subtle theme in the trim to suit what is elegant, evolutionary styling, but then this car is being sold mostly to Americans so pimping and slutting up the design is to be expected.

This is absolutely disgusting. If I were the man in charge at the treasury that approve the Photoshop for this car as the companies plea for government loans. I'd look at this and be making a phonecall to pres. Obama requesting this company be closed by end of business day today. Terrible!!!

The front is ok, the rear is a total miss though, looks like some utterly cheap tuning made on the previous one. I also find the front wheel archers to appear larger than the rear ones, making the front wheels bigger than the rear which is awkward. A bit of a wasted potential.

Not enough to compete in the segment. In fact it looks like they just stole ideas from every other manufacturer, and failed miserably... Whuh. Whuh. -oh I'm sorry. I just gagged...

i would actually buy it just to customize the whole back thing and give it a better look. other than that, this car is gorgeous. waiting for the gas milage to determine if it still in that place.
