German tuner adds 60 horse to the MkVI Golf R putting on tap 330 PS (243 kW /325 bhp) and 470 Nm (345 lb-ft) of torque

German tuner MR Car Design has a new tuning package for the MkVI Golf R.

The retro-flavored remaking the previous Golf R, called the MR6R, consists of an ECU remap of the 2.0 liter TFSI and a new stainless-steel sport exhaust system, among other modifications, that puts on tap 330 PS (243 kW /325 bhp) and 470 Nm (345 lb-ft) of torque instead of the standard issue 270 PS (199 kW / 266 bhp) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft).

That power boost will set you back €699.

A set of "emotion" wheels called Strada is also on offer, 8 x 19-inch rims in a 10-spoke design wrapped in 235/35-19 tires which MR Car design claims makes the wheels look even larger.

There's also a new set of springs from H&R to help manage the additional bounce from the extra 60 horses.

Tuned or not, R or not, this Golf remains ugly...

Much better looking than an Astra. Also, I think the GTi looks more aggressive than MK-V.

If this is a modification for the golf R then it is completely awesome, can't wait to drive one.

The MKVI Golf suddenly looks 'purposeful' with this R tuning finish with 330 horses to boot. Essentially though, it leaves you underwhelmed knowing what the MKV/MKIV R versions looked like!
