Inching closer to production

Our spies have managed to catch a lightly camouflaged 2012 BMW 6-Series Cabrio with its roof down.

While there isn't much to report, the car looks virtually identical to the Concept 6-Series Coupe which recently debuted at the Paris Motor Show. The only notable differences, aside from the convertible roof, are production-style mirrors and a traditional daul exhaust system.

Under the hood, engine options will likely carryover from the 5-Series. This means we can expect a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline 6 cylinder with 225kW (302 hp/ 306 PS) and a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 with 300 kW (402 hp / 408 PS). For the M6, power will be provided by an optimized twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 with 408 kW (555 hp / 563 PS) to 425 kW (570 hp / 578 PS).

The 6-Series coupe will be unveiled early next year, with the convertible following a few months later.

This car looks boring and predictable. Perfect cabrio for old, rich wives of dentists.

I have said in many posts about this car, its looks like a cross between a nissian 240 SX convertible and sI omeone who has squatted down and pinched out along steaming loaf. But, I digress

The car will be gorgeous and awesome and all those things, but the camo is pretty pointless at this point, we know how's its gonna look already.

Unless this is the v6 model, I don't understand why they would keep the small tip exhausts on this car? The v8 models of the 5 series/GT,X5 and 7 series BMW's have the new large exhausts which make the back end look more aggressive. I think that the 335i?s have larger exhausts then the current 650i.
