Fiat Uno Cabrio concept set for Sao Paulo Motor Show debut
Fiat Uno Cabrio concept love is Sao Paulo, 1600, 26.10.2010

Sporty styling, unique appearance

The first images of Fiat's Uno Cabrio concept have hit the web.

Set to debut at the Sao Paulo Motor Show the convertible preview of a potential production model has been designed with an aftermarket tuning flavor.  It features aggressive bumpers, LED daytime running lights, new headlamps, a lowered suspension, a center-mounted dual exhaust, and five-spoke alloy wheels.  Inside, the cabin is virtually identical to the standard model but a contrasting color scheme works to spruce things up.

Under the hood, power is rumored to be provided by a 1.4-liter T-Jet engine with 152 hp (113 kW / 154 PS). However, the Uno's 1.4-liter EVO engine produces 85 hp (63 kW / 86 PS) so that could be over optimistic speculation.

Thanks for the tip Samuel

Uno Convertible: freedom at your fingertips

The convertible model, even if only for study, is the first to try the two-door bodyshell of the new Uno, which will soon be available to the market. This flexibility in terms of design points to the many possibilities that an advanced design, such as the New Uno, can allow.

With the removal of the roof, and therefore part of body rigidity, the prototype had to get reinforcements in various parts of its structure. It was a painstaking work of engineering at Fiat, in order to avoid torsional movements of the body causing discomfort and insecurity.

Following the proposal aesthetic defined by the design, Uno Cabrio received bumpers with new design, which provided a more powerful appearance. The front was characterized by large air intakes and the presence of a pronounced spoiler.

All this care with an aesthetic change suggests that the car has a powerful engine, offering high performance. But at the same time to continue with the irreverence of the rounded squares featured in the New UNO. The taillights and brake lights - positioned on the back of the head restraints - are illuminated by LEDs, complementing the look of the car.

Inspired by the vintage concept, the interior of One Cabrio has received a number of specific components, such as the speaker cover, climate controls, vents, pedals and a chrome fire extinguisher. Also alluding to classic models of race, the three-spoke steering wheel and a metallic shifter. The clamshell seats with four points safety belts, which support the body better in sport driving.

Internally, the dash and center console were redesigned to incorporate new instruments: turbo pressure, positioned near the instrument panel, and two watches to mark the oil pressure and fuel located in the center console . All received new graphics. A special Helmet was produced to be used when driving the car ( see photo with color and trim designer Valeria Santos wearing it )

Walking between contemporary desire and vintage concept, the internal solution with sophisticated and specific elements of aluminum and sleek finishes and new leather upholstery bicolor special stitching and quilting have application in the model marriage of sporty, speed and sophistication.

The engine chosen to drive the convertible is the same as the Punto T-Jet, Turbo 1.4, 16V, 152 hp, which is able to take him to a top speed close to 200 km / h.

To match the new appearance with great performance, the model received wheels with 17 inch rim and tire profile 40. The suspensions for the idealized Uno Convertible are consistent with the sportsmanship suggested by powerful motor and a set of wheels and tires of high performance. An invitation to the fun.

The Eos' styling is relatively conservative. You must be out of your mind.

What if I told you you could have this car for probably as little as 13K Euros and that it has a sub 8 second sprint from 0-100? Putting aside everybody's personal taste, Fiat came to rescue the working class, people who can't afford to spend 25K on a fast fun car, not to mention convertible. Everyone should be able to enjoy driving not just the people with deep pockets. I wouldn't go as far as calling this car a revolution like the original Golf GTi, but in this sea of overpriced lukewarm performance models, this is a breath of fresh air. The styling is quirky, like a Japanese dual turbo Kei car; It does exactly what it set out to do, it tells everyone around you that you might not be rich, but you're definitely not slower than the 45K BMW / Audi / Mercedes city dwellers.
