Roding Roadster first interior shots - targets KTM X-Bow and Ariel Atom [video]

The Roding Roadster 23 comes with a 6-cylinder engine producing 300 PS (220 kW) and 400 Nm of torque

It may not be the prettiest car around but it can move.

First unveiled in Frankfurt last year, here are the latest pics of the Roding Roadster 23 doing some laps at the Nürburgring last week and an accompanying video (posted above) of it on the move on a test track elsewhere. The car is still wearing camouflage in the pics from the Nürburgring although the Roding Roadster 23 is baring it all in the video. The car is in the same segment of lightweight specialty roadsters such as the KTM X-Bow and Ariel Atom.

According to our spy photographers, the testing of the Roding Roadster 23 was being benchmarked against the Porsche GT2.

The Roding Roadster 23 is a compact sports car from German specialty marque Roding Automobile. It comes with a 6-cylinder engine producing 300 PS (220 kW) and 400 Nm of torque. It is light, weighing just 920 kg. Top speed is 280 km/h and 0 to 100 km/h takes just 3.9 seconds.

Only 23 units of the car will be made.

Ugly indeed, but that thing can slide. Looks like it could be a lot of fun in an empty parking lot, but I don't think it will top the Atom. With only 23 units coming, it'll probably priced up high, too. Props on the soundtrack though. Desperado anyone?

Nice, but I think I'd rather have a Caterham. Half the weight, more bhp / kg, great handling, history and race and track proven performance.

We never said it was new. It debuted in Frankfurt last year and it is indeed a six cylinder according to Roding. If you can find interior photos elsewhere, I'd be happy to edit the title.

It's not even a 6 cylinder engine. If you listen to it properly, you can tell it is a 5 cylinder engine.

LEFTEROV: Its Six Cylinder engine. And you are correct this is not an atractive car, by any means.

who designs and builds these cars and then goes drifting in them! surely the whole point of a car like this is to prove that it can pull maximum lateral g forces WITHOUT breaking traction...
