Zenvo ST1 headed stateside with $1,225,000 price tag
Zenvo ST1 - 1600

Zenvo ST1 is one of the most powerful supercars around with a 7.0 liter V8 producing 1104 bhp (810 kW) and 1430 Nm of torque

The Zenvo ST1 is headed to the United States with a price tag of $1,225,000 (€884,611). (Prices vary wildly on the ST1 in European markets.)

The Danish supercar's U.S. sales will be handled by Red Sea Distribution.

The Zenvo ST1 is a hand-built, highly-exotic model that comes with a 7.0 liter V8, both supercharged and turbocharged, which is what the ST stands for, producing a total of 1104 bhp/810 kW and 1430 Nm (1055 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is also a Bio Flex that runs on both regular petrol/gasoline or E85 bio-ethanol fuel.

The ST1 makes it to 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standing start in a flat 3.0 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 375 km/h (233 mph).

Though, one can't be quite sure just how many ST1's will be making it stateside, it will probably a number you can count on one hand. Total production of the ST1 is limited to only 15 units a year.

Coming to America! ZENVO ST1

The ZENVO ST1 was presented to the public for the first time at Le Mans on 12th June 2009. The overwhelmingly positive response from media, customers, experts and business partners reflects the great interest of the public.

Due to the equally positive feedback from America, ZENVO has extended distribution of the ZENVO ST1 to North America this year appointing Red Sea Distribution www.redseadistribution.com as the sole distributor.

The current model is equipped with a V8 motor. With its 1104 hp, the 1376kg two-seater can accelerate to 0-100 kmh in just 3.0 seconds and a top speed of 375kmh (electronically limted).

The ZENVO ST1 offers supreme handling with comfort levels that make the car an everyday option and a generous choice of optional extras.

Red Sea Distribution www.redseadistribution.com are already in talks with select dealers and can look forward to new dealers being announced in due course. These dealers will service North America from the east to the west coast.

A Red Sea Distribution representative made the following comments "We are very proud to be appointed the official US distributor for ZENVO, as a specialist niche market distributor we offer a service to the exotic dealer that has never been seen in the US before. We look forward to appointing new dealers and Giving them the status of new car dealer for the ZENVO brand"

"...hand-built, highly-exotic..." in comparison with standard exotics?

It's one of those definitions that try to turn a negative into a positive. "We are a company of 5 people and no robot assembly line" means "hand-built" and "We can't possibly afford to make a lot of cars because we haven't found people who are willing to buy from an esoteric brand yet" means "highly-exotic". I could be wrong though, they might have 10 people working there.

how much is a veyron in the states? It looks nice though, but to much plastic in front and rear. Why not use another material? Makes it look almost cheap...

...I love how this 1,3M USD car uses VW Golf/Rabbit Mk. 6 mirrors (check it out). Otherwise it would probably cost 1,4M USD...lol...

The Great Dane of supercars. Strong Audiesque design language on the centre console. Bags of attitude problem in your rear-view mirror for sure! Handling finesse remains to be seen though plus reliability factor. Needs to justify delusions of grandeur price tag consequently.

Some radical design but damn it's expensive.

Not sure why anyone will spend that kind of money on this car over a Veyron. If it is prestige, Veyron has and edge over it. If it if performance, Veyron also has an edge over it. Veyron has a bigger dealer network. Veyron has instant recogniz-ability, versus this car can be confused with a Lotus or worse, a kit car. For that kind of money, you can get a F40 + 959. Or a mclaren F1 + 458. Or 458 + 599 + California. I wonder if there is even 15 people who is willing to pay.

"that kind of money"is peanuts for people who buy this car. i'm sure most of them already have a Veyron , a Zonda , hellicopters , yachts and twin blode mistresses.

Do tell where you can get an F1 for that kind of money. The last I saw for sale was $3mill+

I any of you knew any better you would know that this car is far from a kit car and in all the reviews it got (i.e. topgear, autocar, etc), it turned out to be outstanding in all facets of the game. The Zonda at some point was being called a kit cat by______ like you. Take ur head out of ur _____!

I don't think anyone is doubting the performance. All these hand built boutique cars are great I am sure. But the point is, when the price tag pushes pass the million dollar mark, it better have the complete package, performance, prestige, exclusivity and style. Ransacking other's parts bin does not exactly convey superior R&D. The interior in particular, looks put together, not engineered.

These are the original pictures of a pre-production car. Don't judge the interior yet.

I would rather have a Veyron if I'm going to spend that much money. That interior is pale compared to many other exotics. I like the Exterior design though.

Im not paying 1.2mil for a modified corvette Z06.. Are you kidding me? Sorry but this does not even come close to the Veyron, on ANY grounds.

It only uses a Corvette engine, which has been heavily modified. Also, limiting the top speed to 375km/h when the Veyron does 407km/h is surely a sign that they're not taking on VW or SSC? The top speed is probably just a by-product of everything else. Obviously I haven't driven one, but it has been highly acclaimed in the press. This will probably go to those who are bored with the current Paganis and Koenigseggs and want something good but obscure. If you want a tarted up 'Vette, look for the $1m+ Bertone Mantide.

It's not that heavily modified, lingenfelter offers a kit for the Z06 that pumps out roughly 1104hp too, cost is around 70k.....

Yeah, you're right. It's only completely reworked and twice as powerful...

It is NOT using a Corvette engine! It's using a engine block which basic design is an LSX block but it has been redone in aluminum. Anything but the block is in-house Zenvo (except the supercharger and Turbo which I don't know what are). Go read some: http://www.topgear.com/uk/photos/stig-versus-zenvo-st1?imageNo=10

"Though, one can't be quite sure just how many ST1s will be making it Stateside" From the Press Release directly below the article: "Numbers to be made: 15 Per Year." Coffee refill?

Can you imagine the depreciation on a 1.225 million dollar car, with a Chevrolet engine, a plasticy body designed by someone who looks to be a rookie, manufactured by a company with no history, and an interior with the luxury of frigidaire. We all know that a big engine in a light, ugly car will go fast. How many people would pay over a million bucks for the experience of going no faster than others who get real prestige for much less???

i would buy a ST1 if i was a billionaire. why ? just because i can and i like it. the engine is based on the Corvette 7.0l , but it's completely re-engineered so that's basically Zenvo's own engine.
October 21, 2010 12:55 am

It has a carbon fibre body. I know that's just short for Carbon-Fibre-Reinforced Plastic, but it's an expensive material. I also happen to think it looks very good.
