Neiman Marcus Chevrolet Camaro Convertible sells out in three minutes
Chevrolet Camaro Convertible for Neiman Marcus Christmas Book

Was priced at $75,000

Hold onto your hats, a Chevrolet has beaten a Jaguar! The 2011 Camaro Convertible Neiman Marcus Edition sold out in a mere three minutes, which handily beat the four hours it took to sell the 2010 Jaguar XJL Supercharged Neiman Marcus Edition.

Priced at $75,000 ($30,000 less than the Jag), the Neiman Marcus Camaro has a unique exterior with Deep Bordeaux paint, a matte silver windscreen frame, and 21-inch aluminum wheels with Pirelli P-Zero tires. Inside, the cabin boasts custom leather upholstery, red trim, and a 245-watt Boston Acoustics sound system.

Since the car is based on the Camaro SS, power comes from a 6.2-liter V8 engine with 426 hp (318 kW / 432 PS) and 420 lb-ft (529 Nm) of torque. However with the six-speed automatic, output drops to 400 hp (298 kW / 406 PS) and 410 lb-ft (555 Nm) of torque.

Customers will take delivery of their cars in the spring of 2011, shortly after the standard Camaro Convertible arrives in dealerships.

I'm very happy for Chevy to set a new world record, however, $75,000 for a Conv. Camaro? No, Thanks. Corvette Conv. cost less and you don't have to wait 6 months to get it.

Chevrolet is quietly building a decent brand via this marketing stunt. He who laughs last, laughs best. Must be the Transformers Bumblebee effect!
