Inside P4/5 Competizione - Part 1 [video]

Here's a video of the making of (sort of) the P4/5 Competizione, a creation of James Glickenhaus, an American auto collector and major car and racing enthusiast.

The P4/5 Competizione is based on the Ferrari F430 Scuderia and comes with the same engine and suspension as the Ferrari F430 GT2 ALMS race car. It's design is also influenced by the Ferrari Enzo P4/5 by Pininfarina which Glickenhaus commissioned from the Italian coach-builder.

"I'm grateful to my friends at [New York auto dealer Wide World of Cars] who sold us a new F430 Scuderia at a reasonable price that we will use as our platform. Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus will be turning her into a full race car that will contest the 2011 24 Hours of Nurburgring," Glickenhaus announced on the FerrariChat web forum earlier this year.

Glickenhaus will race the car under the Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus team name at the 24-hour race at the Nurburgring circuit next year. In the video, Glickenhaus calls the P4/5 Competizione a throwback to the playboy-racing spirit of the 1960s.

In the video we also get a glimpse into Glickenhaus's garage, which shows what an auto enthusiast he really is. As this is the first video in a series, we still don't get to see what the P4/5 Competizione looks like or drives like in its final state of glory.
