2012 Ford Focust ST on the move in video

Focus ST will come with a turbocharged 2.0 liter EcoBoost engine with 250 PS (184 kW / 247 bhp)

Ford has released this video of the upcoming 2012 Focus ST model in action.

The ST is dressed in its own 'Tangerine Scream', varying a little from the previous ST's orange paint job that was its special color. In the video we see some of the distinguishing features of the ST, such as the center-mounted dual exhaust.

Under the bonnet is Ford's turbocharged 2.0 liter EcoBoost engine with 250 PS (184 kW / 247 bhp), which will represent more power and far better fuel-economy than the 225 PS 2.5 liter, 5-cylinder power plant of its predecessor.

In a press release introducing the Focus ST at the Paris auto show, Ford said that the car providess "...an intoxicating cocktail of exhilarating performance and handling accompanied by an addictive sound."

Unfortunately, we don't get to hear that sound in this video. Perhaps we will in a later release.

The Ford Focus ST is expected to be introduced in Europe sometime later in 2011, after the release of the new Ford Focus in the earlier part of next year.

The ST will make it to U.S. shores too by early 2012.

Nice looking car except for the central exhausts and the Peugot style tail lights. However they say the sound is improved. Even the color looks nice. Can't wait for the RS version with 350hp.

That 5 pot from the RS and old ST sounded pretty damn good. Not sure how the 4 is going to keep up but im hopeful. This car is epic. But i might be the only one to dislike this special colour. cant wait to see it on North American roads. Price will be interesting

Love the car. Hate the video. If this car is supposed to have an addictive sound then I WANT TO HEAR IT! We don't need a few cool shots and some music.

focust like locust? I dont like the trend for gaping grills, everyones copying peugoet or perhaps audi and mitsubishi, even though its not a good look to start with

I think it is the Mondeo that starts taking this design into public then copied by everybody. Pug style is smiling and got different character to this one, the Citroen yeah definitely is in same design language to the rest of the world (for angry gaping look as you call), except for Mazda that goes for Pug style.

Focus is becoming too high and looking like a wagon. This retires sportivness

Seems this Focus is designed to look always going to use word "over". As I can recall, a Focus ST should be subtle and just right status, not extravagant like this new one. Current RS style is already hardcore to look, and I hope Ford is not going to mess up the next RS.
