Features a vastly improved cabin

Our spies have managed to catch several new images of the 2011 Mercedes C-Class Estate.

Undergoing testing in Germany, the lightly camouflaged wagon features slimmer headlights (with integrated LED turn signals), a revised hood, and modified bumpers.

Inside, Mercedes has gone the extra mile by completely revamping the interior. The dashboard has a more elegant appearance with a new instrument cluster, a revised center stack, and an integrated COMAND display. Furthermore, there is additional trim and a retraceable cup holder cover.

Under the hood, a variety of engines will be available. Notable choices will likely include the 225 kW (306 PS / 302 hp) 350 BlueEFFICIENCY, the 195 kW (265 PS / 262 hp) 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY and the 150 kW (204 PS / 201 hp) 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY. Of course, there will also be the C 63 AMG with a 6.3-liter (6208cc) V8 that produces 451 hp (336 kW / 457 PS) and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque.

The facelifted C-Class will be unveiled shortly, so stay tuned for continuing coverage.

The interior is much better than the current model, but why not using the new 5.5L TT engine for the AMG version? They could reduce the power to 465 atleast.

I agree about the interior, looks more MErcedes like. My family has a C300 luxury sedan (US) and I have yet to understand the point of the flip up screen. I just hope they move the door lock/unlock button back in the middle of the car near the hazzard button. Everytime I go to unlock the door it takes me a mintue to remember where the button is.

Teinterior looks way better. I think it would have caught less attention to photographers if they wouldn?t have taped the exterior...

@ Mohan: Though it might not look like a complete and total redo it does look different. The most note worthy is obviously that the Comand screen does not flip anymore, and is now integrated as with the other Benzes. Also air vent location has changed and they are now have an aluminum appearance rather then plastic. The trim now goes to the ignition, and finally the center stack got some detailed reworking t bring it more in line with the rest of the classes (row of silver buttons etc). Yupp, some major but not all that noticeable differences. Now I just want mine...
