On sale later this year

Dodge has released the first interior image of the 2011 Durango Citadel.

Like recent Chrysler products, the Durango's cabin is a vast improvement over its predecessor. The overall design mimics the Jeep Grand Cherokee, but there are subtle differences including a revised center console, additional metallic trim, and standard three-row seating.

Under the hood, engine options include a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and a 5.7-liter HEMI V8. Dodge has withheld performance specifications, but the V6 is expected to be rated at 290 hp (216 kW / 294 PS) while the V8 should churn out 360 hp (268 kW / 365 PS).

Look for more information to be released ahead of the Durango's launch later this year.

A Peek Inside the 2011 Dodge Durango Citadel

The Durango's all-new interior is a surprise owners always deserved but never expected. Created by the same interior design studio that designed the much-lauded interior in the Ram trucks and the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Durango's luxurious interior materials and thoughtful touches will make owners and their crews want to jump in, hunker down and thoroughly enjoy even the longest drive. Everywhere they touch, Durango passengers will feel materials that are refined and soft to the touch. Not only is it a pleasure to behold, it is extremely functional and gives owners a first-class experience, regardless of the trim level. Durango's interior is also extremely comfortable for all three rows of passengers, and there's a surprising amount of interior flexibility. With 22 different seating configurations, there's plenty of room to store and move plenty of people and their gear.

Obviously can't expect BMW finish in a $30k truck. Vast improvement over the old Durango, that's a pretty good looking truck.

This interior is the carbon copy of the new Grand Cherokee except the steering wheel. Using the same elements even without any slight differences, becomes an annoying habit of GM. They should swiftly give off this policy.
