Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale hits the track [video]

A glorious Italian symphony

Days after unveiling the GranTurismo MC Stradale in Paris, Maserati has released a new video which shows the car in action.

Designed to be the "fastest, lightest and most powerful car in the Maserati range," the Stradale features an aerodynamic body kit, a sportier suspension, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, and specially-developed Pirelli tires. Furthermore, thanks to carbon fiber racing seats and the deletion of the rear seats, the coupe weighs 1770kg (3,902 lbs) which is 110kg (243 lbs) less than the GranTurismo S.

Under the hood, power is provided by a 4.7-liter V8 engine with 450 PS (330 kW / 444 hp) and 510 Nm (376 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to an upgraded MC Race Shift transmission that enables the car to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds and hit a top speed in excess of 300 km/h (186 mph).

i always love maserati's and this one would be fun to drive. When they put out the MC Sportline I already said they should put everything in a MC Stradale and keep it raw. It's still unfortunate that maserati (and alfa romeo) somehow has to live under ferrari. Maserati would love to make this V8 at least 500hp.

Really nice looking, and sounds awesome! But I was surprised the 0-100 took 4.6 sec considering Ferrari says 599 GTB will do it in 3.7 sec. Looks like the Maserati is a bigger car, but I thought this version would be closer in the performance dept. to the 599.

Well, the engine is still based on the old Ferrari 360 V( as far as i know... The 599 has got a V12 and much more advanced chassis frame technique I think.
