Porsche baby SUV may be called the Cajun - says VW Group CEO
New baby SUV from Porsche will be based on the Audi Q5 and is due in 2015

Back in 2008, we spied a protype of a smaller Cayenne doing some testing which Porsche at the time denied was a new baby SUV.
Now, VW says the baby SUV is coming. In an interview with German magazine Der Spiegel, VW CEO Martin Winterkorn said that a new baby SUV for the Porsche brand based on the Audi Q5 model could come to be called the 'Cajun'.
Wintercorn was talking about the addition of models to the Porsche lineup which VW Group has promised in an effort to expand sales of the sportscar brand. VW Group wants to double sales of the Porsche brand to around 150,000 units by 2013.
The new Cajun baby SUV from Porsche would be due for a launch around 2015.

Porsche Cajun? Not suitable. Actually Cajun also is one type of chiken dishes the Indian make.

not surprising that the vw ceo decides about its name. should acutally be porsches choice, but this aint gonna a be a porsche anyways. i guess VW or Audi engine under a modified Q5 body. manufactured anywhere but in stuttgart

Cayenne is already small, why make a smaller one? i personally don't like small SUV's... And the cajun name is really really bad, couldn't porsche find something else beginning with "Ca"

interesting that everyone here assumes the world's largest car maker knows nothing about marketing. "Wintercorn was talking about the addition of models to the Porsche lineup which VW Group has promised in an effort to expand sales of the sportscar brand."
also interesting that ford USA (who, like all us car makers, have no idea of marketing) are currently CUTTING their models.

Cajun comes from Acadiens people (French settlers from former Louisiana); it also refers to spicy cooking from the same area, so nothing to see with India...

You tweets - Cayenne, and cajun are spices (well, cayenne is a type of pepper...), same as all the VW's named after winds, and all the lambos named from bull fighting. All Porsche SUV's will be named after spices from far away places- subliminal messageof how far it can go, and how exotic it is, and how compared to similiar SUVs it's hotter... Or I guess that was the plan (that or they are retarded).
