Updated XF-R model will borrow styling cues from the new Jaguar XJ

Here are the latest spy shots of the facelifted 2012 Jaguar XF-R.

The XF-R only came to market in 2009 but Jaguar already seems eager to update its styling.

New for both the next XF-R and XF models will be light-clusters and bumpers similar to the new XJ model, which is establishing a new design paradigm for the storied British brand.

We can see how the camo is aimed specifically at covering up those new elements of the car.

Likely to remain the same is the XF-R's supercharged 5.0 liter V8 power plant doling out an ample 510 bhp (380 kW / 517 PS). That engine is able to power the XF-R up to 225 mph (362 km/h) but the car has an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

No news yet on when exactly the facelifted XF-R will go on sale but it is expected as a 2012 model.

I think that design of facelifted model will be closer to 2007 Jaguar C-XF concept

That XFR was tuned, "the 225mph top speed was achieved with additional horsepower liberated by a remapped ECU, a modified air intake and exhaust system and revised supercharger settings" Even Brabus and G power tuned their cars up to 700+ to reach 225 mph
