Aston Martin One-77 officially rated at 750bhp

First deliveries are scheduled for early next year

Aston Martin has announced engine specifications for the One-77 supercar.

Beating earlier estimates, the 7.3-liter V12 is rated at 750 bhp (559 kW / 760 PS) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque. While the company is staying mum on performance figures, a pre-production prototype hit a top speed of 220 mph (355 km/h).

As we have previously reported, the One-77 features a carbon fiber monocoque chassis and an inboard double wishbone suspension with Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve damping. Other goodies include a six-speed robotized manual gearbox, carbon ceramic brakes, and specially developed Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires.

Production will be limited to 77 units and the first deliveries are scheduled for early next year.

Aston Martin One-77: Featuring the World’s Most Powerful Naturally Aspirated Road Car Engine

Gaydon, 21 September 2010. Aston Martin’s ultimate expression of design, engineering and craftsmanship; the One-77 is being readied for production. The 7.3 litre V12 engine, as part of the development process, has been certified at 750bhp and 750Nm of torque, positioning it as the most powerful naturally aspirated road car engine in the world today.

In the fourth part of the One-77 film series which is released today, Dr. Ulrich Bez, CEO of Aston Martin and Marek Reichman, Director of Design discuss the fundamental elements of what makes the One-77 so unique. The film shows the first complete engineering car in motion on the test track.

The One-77, a sports car of unparalleled beauty with subtle aggression and performance to eclipse any previous Aston Martin road car will be built at the marque’s global headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire. Over the past nine months, the One-77 has been undergoing Aston Martin’s rigorous engineering test programme. The car, despite its exclusive volume of only 77 is being subjected to the same engineering development process as the current range of acclaimed sports cars. This includes extreme hot and cold testing plus sign-off at the Nürburgring Nordschleife; the world’s toughest and most unforgiving test track.

In April of this year the One-77 made its on-road debut as part of the Tourist Trophy where it led a parade of supercars taking the Trophy from London’s Pall Mall to the Silverstone circuit where it performed some hot laps.

Dr. Ulrich Bez, Chief Executive of Aston Martin said: “The One-77 is approaching a production reality and of course, there is considerable excitement in the project. Now the next steps are all about details and refinement to complete the composition. I know the final car will demonstrate what the Aston Martin team is capable of.”

Deliveries of the One-77 are expected to commence in early 2011. For access to the fourth part of the One-77 film series please visit the Aston Martin YouTube channel at: www.youtube.com/astonmartin

It may looks like a cat fish from the front but the rear is absolutly beautiful either the interior, but is too long that they take two years to start the deliveries? How long does it take them to build each car?

I couldn't agree with you more! The rear is perfect! If you had put together the front of the db9 and the rear of the one-77 you would have the most beautiful AM ever!

Beautiful car. Overpriced as Reventon but very nice. I think some design details of this car will be seen on future DB9, V8 Vantage replacement.

I disagree. Aston Martin doesn't do mid-engined. It's not in their philosophy. Well neither is the Cygnet, but they did that for the same reason that Enzo's replacement is going to be a hybrid.

Very fine line between tacky and 'design masterpiece'.

It is indeed a brilliant engine. V12 NA cracking 750bhp is the way it's meant to be. Engines like this and the BMW V10 will be missed.

@ topgun.... because then when asked what car you've got you can say you've got an Aston and not a Nissan and then have to explain its not any old Nissan at which point the person asking the question is bored and probably walked off! anyways i dont think those two cars are really for the same sort of person. Not too sure about the front but the rest of it is great!

Beautiful car!!! But, the price tag of 1,2 million pounds is a joke! Honestly, I think that it should be priced at 500k euros...

That price is almost Veyron's territory

It's so expensive because everything is handmade and bespoke to the One-77 (except for maybe the steering wheel). Prices soar when unique parts are made from scratch in ultra low volumes. The Veyron, for example, costs millions more than it sells for, although VW can afford it because they make loads of money elsewhere.

It's beautiful and fast, but that price tag is a joke. $1.6m for what exactly?

Why do you care about the price? Are you going to buy one? This Aston is insane, and these 77 models will be sold out in a speed of light, so why all of you are talking about price....

they are talking about the price because they can't afford it or should i say we can't afford it. only the rich and famous can enjoy this beautiful thing. sorry guys, you'll just have to look at it and drool.

God this is beautiful, first new car I think can compete in a beauty contest with the alfa 8c, very hard to choose between this, and 8c or a Reventon for me, still I believe this would be my choice.
