Fiesta ST will likely come with a 1.6 liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine with around 170 PS (125 kW / 168 bhp)

Here are the latest set of spy shots of the upcoming 2011 Fiesta ST caught doing some testing near the Nürburgring circuit in Germany.

This prototype is wearing a little camouflage over parts of the front grill, perhaps masking additional air intakes. At the back is a dual-exhaust and rear diffuser similar to those of the Focus RS. Inside are the appropriate Recaro seats for this fiery little hatch.

The Fiesta ST will likely be fitted with Ford's 1.6 liter EcoBoost engine turbocharged to around 170 PS (125 kW / 168 bhp). A 2.0 liter turbocharged EcoBoost with anywhere between 230 and 250 PS (169 kW / 227 bhp and 184 kW / 247 bhp) is also a possibility but an unlikely one. Or maybe Ford's saving that for an RS variant somewhere down the line.

The Ford Fiesta ST is expected to go on sale in Europe sometime next year. Details on its availability in North America are sure to follow.

Awesome little car! I highly doubt the 2.0L will make it into this car. It would totally cannibalize the focus ST. One can always dream though...

a 1.6 is fine with me its not a big car and its not that heavy. I had a civic with a 1.4 and thanks to its light weight it could out accelerate some of the larger engine cars.
