Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale revealed ahead of Paris debut
Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale

Has a top speed in excess of 300 km/h (186 mph)

If you've always felt the Maserati GranTurismo had too much luxury and not enough sport, feel free to thanks the folks in Modena because your prayers have just been answered.

The company has unveiled the 2011 MC Stradale which is described as the "fastest, lightest and most powerful car in the Maserati range." Drawing inspiration from the Trofeo GranTurismo MC, the Stradale features an aerodynamic body kit, high performance brakes, and a revised suspension for "razor-sharp handling."

Power is provided by a 4.7-liter V8 with 450 hp (336 kW / 457 PS). It enables the car to hit a top speed in excess of 300 km/h (186 mph).

More information will be released later this month, so stay tuned for continuing coverage.

The new Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale will be the fastest, lightest and most powerful car in the Maserati range when it goes on sale in the first quarter of 2011.

Inspired by the Trofeo GranTurismo MC and the race-winning GT4 motorsport models, the two-seater Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale that will debut at the Paris Auto Show will feature razor-sharp handling and will break the 300km/h barrier.

The GranTurismo MC Stradale responds to demands for a GranTurismo which can balance on-road driving needs with race-driving desires, incorporating the handling and aerodynamic lessons from Maserati’s three racing programs.

The GranTurismo MC Stradale produces more aerodynamic down force without producing more aerodynamic drag, it produces more power – 336kw, 450 hp – without using more fuel and it is more agile without sacrificing the GranTurismo S’s highly praised ride quality.

I actually like that Granturismo has more luxury than sport. If I would like to have more sport in my Granturismo I would rather go to Novitec Tridente for engine modifications than Maserati Showroom to exchange Granturismo S on MC Stradale

I disagree.A 2 door Italian car with these looks,sound & price should be a very fast sports car,not a GT.You want luxury,buy an S Class or 7 series.

For the most part, Maserati has been like Aston Martin. They are luxury sports cars, with more emphasis on luxury. They belong to a different niche in the car market.

I would love to have that front & rear spoiler on a normal Gran Turismo S Auto with Novitec's supercharger

Yea, I also like the more luxury than sport concept. I hope its a very comfy car to drive, with good dynamics and a very good engine. I was expecting a more hardcore model, but whatever, balance is more important.

i always say that they need to stay away from the aftermarket parts sales for the MC range. by the time the owner adds all the option, the car is worth $30k more with parts but never in resale. they did the right thing and put all these goodies into one package and limited edition car.
