Jeep Pickup Truck slated for 2011 - report
Based on the Wrangler Unlimited
According to a recent report, Jeep will launch a new pickup truck next year.
While details are limited, the truck is expected to be a regular cab model (two-door) with styling inspired by the 2005 Gladiator concept. It will be based on the Wrangler Unlimited and feature additional storage behind the front seats.
The unnamed pick has already been green-lighted and apparently debuted at Chrysler's dealer convention alongside the 2012 Dodge Viper concept.
Production is slated for the third quarter of 2011, so stay tuned for additional information.

Russian roads like the road of bones to Magadan? that would be perfect for a trek across that.

Just drive off 100 km from Moscow, Saint-Petersburg and other big cities and you'll see that many Russian roads didn't change since 18-th century. That's why Jeep is perfect car for Russian regions. But too expensive

What is this WW2? And then Chrysler wonders why it is doing so poorly. I mean they are only about 65years behind. For god's sake its 2011 almost, get it together. The TJ is doing poorly in sales, pick ups are doing poorly in sales, why would merging those 2 be a good idea? I really don't feel bad about bailing these guys out anymore, i'm starting to look at it like donating to charity for the mentally disabled.

What are you talking about? Chrysler is decent. They haven't been having record months lately, but then again who has besides Cadillac, Buick, and Porsche?

Ah-ha, TJ is doing extremely poorly in sales. Especially considering that it has been out of production for over three years... Oh, maybe you are a little lost in model designations while talking about the JK? Yep, it sells extremely poorly - only 63,858 units through end of August. The entire Scion brand comprised of no less than three models and loaded with that youthful PR BS to the gills has posted a whooooping result of 29,672 sales. Heck, the entire line of real Toyota SUVs (not those whimpy RAV4 and Highlanders) could not even touch the Wrangler with its 48,687 sales. So, yes, I fully concur - the Wrangler sells quite poorly...
What else there? Ah, the poster child of negativity to all the treehuggers out there - the pickup truck. I have a news for you, boy: the Ram is consistently in the top five best-selling vehicles on the market year in and year out. So, yes, pickups don't sell well...
Oh, and finally - check your facts before you tap on your keyboard next time. This will give your readers far fewer chances to mock your lack of knowledge...

Well, it's about time the vehicle showed up! Bring in the Hemi in it as an option along with the base Pentastar V6 and I will be happy!

Build this thing. The cab space could be a mite bigger for adults to get in the back but not much as it doesn't need to be as big as the industry standard "supercab" configuration. Put a strong 4.0L 6 cylinder diesel engine with a 6speed [auto/manual] transmission. Maybe make a tire size change an option from the factory. Put some larger brakes on it for towing and folks will buy the dang thing. Stop just making stuff to get by like the current JK....with a caravan engine. Slow down and just build a good Jeep/ truck and folks will buy........oh and the JK put a dang engine in the thing, the 3.8 is shameful!

Build it!!! Put a real engine in the dang thing. A 4.2L Cummins Diesel. Make the cab a little bit longer for rear leg room and just build it.
