MINI concept unveiling in the UK
MINI concept teaser, 541, 10.09.2010

Will be displayed at the London Design Festival

MINI has announced plans unveil a new concept, on September 23rd, at the London Design Festival.

Details are limited, but the car will be presented by Adrian van Hooydonk (BMW's Head of Design). Judging by the teaser image, it could be a JCW Countryman or the rumored two-door Countryman.

To build up hype, MINI is holding a contest which will give five people two tickets to the event. Sadly, the contest is only open to UK residents and doesn't include airfare or transportation. If that hasn't bummed you out, feel free to check out MINI UK's Facebook page for full details.

[UPDATE] MINI has removed the teaser image seen above from their Facebook page to avoid sending mixed signals about an actual concept car debut in Paris according to Autocar.  Apparently the only concept being displayed in Paris is the electric scooter concept we showed you yesterday.  Regardless, MINI's u-turn about this supposed "design concept" doesn't answer what the special Countryman might be. Perhaps they released it too early, and are now backtracking.

Rear door handle is visible trough so it is a 5-door car.

 M! M!
if it were a 5 door, perhaps it might be a JCW with those seemingly lower profile tires?

An idea came to me as I thought of the success of the new Mini as a design and in the market place, and that a new Mini concept will be introduced by DonkeyHonk, or whatever junior Bangle protege's name is. How nice would a modern BMW 2002 be, if it could be reincarnated as well as the new Mini? The 1 series is really a scaled down 3 series. It has little to no resemblance of the 2002.
