The return of sporty styling

Our spies have managed to catch several new images of the US-spec 2012 Honda Civic Coupe.

Undergoing hot weather testing in the American southwest, the coupe features a dramatic roofline (strikingly similar to the Chevrolet Cobalt coupe) and longer rear windows which may have a BMW-like Hofmeister kink. The front end is heavily camouflaged, but it seems to be an evolution of the angular design theme used on the current model. Out back, we can get a glimpse of a trunk-mounted spoiler and clear taillights.

Under the hood, we can expect a new four-cylinder petrol engine and possibly a double-clutch transmission.

The Civic Coupe will be unveiled next year, so stay tuned to WCF for continuing coverage.

from the side profile it looks like a little mustang melted with a civic and from the side profile at a angle it looks like a mid 90 Chevy Monte Carlo and civic spiced together. I can;t tell much as to if it is ugly or nice. time will tell i guess. Honda needs the civic to remain nice looking so something of their is still competitive with the better styling of the new Hyundai's , KIA and ford products. Even GM now has better styling! Well at least Honda can remain content that it is ahead of Toyota still in styling and a lot in reliability.

Im not sure where the engine goes, it can't fit in that front bay! Look at the side profile, it swoops so much it looks like a 2+2. They would have done better to give more headroom and compensate with aggressive styling. BIGGER IS BETTER LOL

I will laugh my socks off if the car is designed by the same team that did the Accord Crosstour!
