Manhart Racing M6XR Twin Turbo

Manhart Racing has announced the M6XR Twin Turbo based on the BMW X6 M.  In standard form the über-SUV's 4.4-liter twin turbo V8 engine develops a monstrous 555 PS (408 kW / 547 bhp) and 500 lb-ft (678 Nm).  Top speed is 275 km/h (170 mph).  Undoubtedly, supercar numbers for a vehicle originally intended as a light off-road vehicle.

However, for Günther Manhart, those numbers are not good enough. Dubbed the unofficial pope at BMW motors for many years, the Bavarian engine constructor overhauled the engine electronics including DME control and new calibrations for the new stainless steel exhaust system with four 90 mm tailpipes and two 200-cell HJS racing catalytic converters.

Power increased to 687 PS, which at a hefty weight of 2380 kg (5247 lbs) amounts to a power to weight ratio of 3.4 kg per hp. As a result, the Manhart M6XR sprints to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 319 km/h (198 mph).

Four Manhart RS sports rims 11J x 23 fitted with 315/25 ZR23 tires set the mood. The chassis developed and manufactured by Manhart lowers the centre of gravity by approximately 30 mm. Braking is upgraded to 395 mm discs and six-piston calipers at the front, and 375 mm discs with four-piston calipers at the rear.

There is the option of a full-leather interior with Alcantara roof and door linings, to go with the characteristically clinical interior of the X6 M, as well as numerous Klavierlack double-coat clear finish trimmings.

A version with more than 700 PS (515 kW / 690 bhp) is planned within a short time which, equipped with new exhaust manifolds, will break the 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) barrier.
