Mystery Lamborghini teaser series begins ahead of Paris unveiling
Mystery Lamborghini teaser 1 for 2010 Paris Motor Show

The official countdown already began when Lamborghini issued this lame excuse of a teaser for the suspected next-generation Murcielago.  However, things are looking a bit more interesting with the release of this new teaser image.

Following a similar teaser strategy of the Estoque concept with close-up detail shots, we imagine the remaining 5 teaser images will reveal more details leading up to the Murcielago's debut in Paris on September 30th.

Rumored to be named Jota, the range toping supercar will have a new direct-injection V12 engine stamping out at least 700 PS (515 kW / 690 bhp). Standstill to 100km/h will transpire in around 3.0 seconds, while top speed blossoms at 370km/h (230 mph).

The Jota will be built with a body monocell similar to the McLaren MP4-12C. Weight is rumored to be less than 1,500kg (3,300 lbs).

Design will keep in tune with the Reventon plus new scissor doors will corkscrew out and up.

The new top dog Lamborghini should be priced in the same range as the LP 640.  We wait... and hope it is indeed the new Murci.

It is going to be a great moment to see the new top spec Lambo, it's as great as a new Rolls-Royce. Murcielago is/was a fantastic car. Can't wait to see the new one. I pray that they'll make it german quality with italian body not different. It has to have this oldschool Lambo factor - ridiculousness with crazy details and danger. P.S. It's amazing what German companies which own an exotic brands made over the years with Lamborghini, Bentley, Bugatti and Rolls-Royce. Look what they made with Skoda and Seat. Maybe they should buy some American brands like Pontiac, Plymouth or Oldsmobile and reborn Firebird, Barracuda and Toronado

Seems like the base of the windshield, and that black thing on the right looks like windshield wiper.

I agree, the left hand side is the bonnet and air vents and you can see the windscreen wiper on the right followed by the front glass panel. It will look awesome~

"Design will keep in tune with the Reventon plus new scissor doors will corkscrew out and up." Sounds awful lot like Koenigseggs dihedral synchro-helix actuation doors.... Tought those where patented.

@ Francois: Please be careful with what you say. You mean good, but you shouldn't hope for any german company to take over another car brand to pimp it up for good - examples: mercedes totally ruined and almost killed chrysler and dodge with discussting design and wrong model philosophy, they also totally failed trying to take over mclaren, then they spoiled the smart..., etc. BMW trashed themselves with awful designs, etc.. So it has shown over the past that only VolksWagen (VW) has the stuff it takes to rebuild and refresh brands with quality and design for good. -

You may also be careful with waht you say: Concerning Mercedes, they made two mistakes with Chrysler: -1) they didn't shared enough their technology and platforms to make important economies -2)they followed the(at the time) current trend: big SUVS.And failed to forsee that the SUV-era was going to end one time. People usually loved the design of the daimler Dodge/Chrysler. Concerning BMW, well this is a question of tastes : the company sold more cars after Chris Bangle took over the design department, so the more ugly they are in your eyes, the better they will be sold. VW made good work with Lamborghini,Bentley, and Skoda, but failed with Seat. Mercedes failed with Chrysler as explained. And BMW failed deliberatly with Rover(they only wanted to have access to the 4x4 expertise of Land Rover to launch the "X" models and Xdrive technology. But they saved Rolls Royce and resurected Mini. When germans have the crown jewels, they can make something outstanding. But with "normal" brands it is more complicated.

@ cronan: The doors of the Koenigsegg have a very inconvenient way of opening which you would realize painfully when you'd park it close to a boardwalk - the door front rims then smash right onto it. -

What part of the car can it be? Is that black thing to the right a windscreen wiper?

I love that red color! I was hoping Lamborghini would add red to their stock paintjobs.

Yes that is the hood and windshield. The "holes" are radiator air vents that will create downforce at the front end. Much like the Ferrari F50 and Ford GT. New direction and great carbon/colour combo. This should be one badass but sexy Lambo, can't wait!

Awesome article, thanks for the link. The materials they're discussing are very impressive and I'd like to see body panels change shape with only electric charge!

Lambo have released several special edition LP’s over the last few years, who is to say this isn’t just another one? I hope I am wrong because a replacement for the Murci & Gallardo are long overdue.

Murcielago yes, but I think the Gallardo still has a year or two left. LP560 came out not too long ago!

Actually it's weird if you compare the Jota spy shots and the teaser image, there a major differences.... actually the teaser looks like it would be the base of the windshield, and the black thing it's a windshield wiper but... the spy shots clearly show a straight line dividing the hood as it does on the Reventon but quite longer... the teaser show no sign of it.. and if it has the same intakes as the Ferrari F50, they are having a bg design problems cause... It could not open as a normal *front engine hood" because the middle part does not have any kind of support.... It will have to open like the SLR Mclaren or F50 hood in that case... but then the scissor doors won't be appropriate cause the hinges would be open and everybody would see them when the hood is open. Also the spy shots don't show any sign of those Hood Intakes anywhere... also the are huge.. I mean those things can suck a person up, that's why I'm kind of confused if that's the hood or what part of the car it is...

Ok no.. look closer at the image... that thing that appears to be a windshield wiper.. is not look closer to it in "high-res" the black thing at the farest side of the picture (closer to the top) keeps going to what should be the top of the windshield, so unless this thing carries a new "L" shape windshield wiper.. for me it isn't one and that is not the hood of it.

I see what your saying, but I still think it's a wiper of a new sort. Maybe they had to offset the wiper motor? Or maybe those are intakes and not the hood at all... I don't want to wait a month for these answers

I suspect it's a model below the Gallardo that will compete with the Ferrari California. I hope it's the Jota though
