McLaren to Launch 5 new models in next 5 years
One new vehicle every year
According to a recent report, McLaren has ambitious plans to build 4,500 vehicles by 2015.
To do this, the company will launch a new model (or variant) every year for the next five years. While details are limited, each vehicle will strive for "substance over flash," and “lower volume, higher standards,” according to McLaren North American chief Tony Joseph.
This goal seems plausible considering 2,700 people have expressed interest in purchasing a MP4-12C. Speaking with Autoguide, McLaren's Regional Director for North America, Tony Joseph, said MP4-12C buyers aren't the usual suspects. Instead of owning a Ferrari, they normally drive Porsches.

All variants ala Veyron? I would say so. Not surprised they feel the owners will be Porsche drivers, the McL is a bit of a geeks car. People want a 911 Turbo alternative without the show off factor. People who drive M5's, Lotus' and early R8's will also be buying this car.

Isn't this exactly what Ferrari is doing? Either way I'm looking forward to it.

I'm so looking forward to this companies future as a sports car only manufacture. They will join only a few companies who haven't tarnished their reputations and vision for the sake of SUV profiteering.

Well as long as it doesn't set on fire it's already got the upper hand on the 458

A hybrid/roadster/lightweight version of the MP4-12C, and a new F1. That's it.

I like this car alot. It would be a tough decision between this and the Ferrari 458. The 458 is awesome (bar the recent flammable wheel well adhesive issue which looks like is being solved) and I am sure this technological tour-de-force will give it a run for the money. While not flashy, this car is a grower and has some neat details.

best part of a 458 is that you can flog it silly, wait for it to bust into flames then get a free new one!

At least their cars are built withutmost quality and not held together with glue, makes me wonder where else Ferrari cut corners in that Italian blowjob! McLaren forever!
