We've seen the upcoming BMW M5 F10 prototype many times before, but these latest spy photos show a white exterior for the first time.

Under the hood, the M5 is expected to use the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 from the X5 M / X6 M. It will be tuned to produce up to 592 hp (441 kW / 600 PS) instead of 547 hp (408 kW / 555 PS).

The car is expected to debut at either 2011 Geneva or Frankfurt Motor Show.

this car is gonna be one of the best drivers cars in the world. The last one was already one of the best, unless they do something completely wrong, which they wont, it will be a complete beast.

592 hp is alot than the previous M5 but what I don't know is the bonnet, is there going be a bump like the M3 bonnet or not & the front bumper may look like the new M1 series.

Delicate and reserved german style, that's what I love xD And 600PS, that's a monster already, wonder how much will be power/wieght relation.

To not on the Topic. I love this M5. Looks amazing already. Really excited about the Turbocharged V8 (never been a fan of the V10), better mpg then predecessor, and did I mention those looks? WOW. I hope soon I can afford at least a 530i F10 just so I have something in common with this M5. Love it in white, green, blue, red, purple... (no not purple). but yellow - yes.

I had an E-Class 1997 E420 Sport -- powerful, stable, and luxury, but the M5 of that era was most definitely much much better.

This generation of 5 series, along with pretty much every generation of 5 series is absolutely beautiful. In my book, there is just no contest between these and an E-class. I would rather have a trampoline than a recent E-class.

No matter what they do with it or what colors they use I'm still not looking forward to it's switch from a unique exotic power plant to the soon to be industry wide power unit ( everything will soon be a twin turbo v8) it's already a company wide engine and while powerful it's nothing unique or special. Engines are what made the M's always stand out.

M5 should be in black or silver..but the most important is underneath the hood. I hope this one will be a beast, because recently BMW only launch car for senior civilians .. BMW 5 GT ? Geez .. I am looking forward for a comparison between this car and the newly equipped 5.5 TT Performance package CLS AMG by benz

you're right, that would be a battle, but maybe Benz wins in torque and straight line performance, but BMW then must be more of a corner maniac...they are both on the top of the food chain, and doing jobs that they were spliting to each other :D

History tends to repeat itself, my money is on the M5 setting a new benchmark in every way. Including straight-line.
