It's a real beauty but I still like the old Skyline GT-R more...

this will kill european super cars. the current model
already accelerate 0-60 in 3.3 seconds. if they slap
an extra 80hp and lower the weight of the car with better Aerodynamic it could easily get 3.0 seconds or even lower which is insane for that car even if it costs 150k dollars its still cheap for the numbers that you are getting.

its 3.5 seconds. 3.3 only with launch control and that is when your transmission craps on itself.
This is great new for the GTR but it wont make it in time before the world ends.....

Sure if you don't own one you'll talk all kinds of crap about it!

Bavarian, u still are hung up about the transmission crapping out after i told u they reworked it after the initial model came out. The upgrade gets it to 3.3 seconds 0-60 and the VDC doesnt have to be turned off (which can void warrnety if constantly turned off). Here is your proof so you dont constanlty look foolish everytime you talk about the same thing over and over....

This is insane. A stock GT-R will soon come with Supercar threating power figures, with just a V6! Don't under-estimate the Japanese. ^^

The XJ220? That actually was a supercar, but the fact that it makes more power than the originally planned V12 would've done just goes to show you the power of turbochargers.

Or the Germans...The Porsche 911 Turbo S already makes 530bhp from a 3.8L Flat 6 and the GT2 RS makes 620bhp from a smaller 3.6L Flat 6.

This all sounds like a very good, productive set of upgrades, but rumours of up to 530/ 540hp were also floating around the V-Spec, and how much extra did we get? 5hp. There's thus reason to doubt that this updated basic car would jump up 60hp...
...until you remember the 458. The SLS. The Gallardo LP560-4 and, of course, the 530hp 997 Turbo S. Then it's clear that the strut brace and stiffer front are to take the extra strain of, oh, about 60hp. I'd suggest this will be the best R35 ever, but GT-Rs only get better with time.

Hmmm a castor angle change from 5.35 to 6 would generally decrease the rate of turn in but would potentially help the ride comfort. I wonder if they counteracted this with a more upright suspension setup for more "directness" If not it would stand to reason that the new GTR would feel slightly more cumbersome.

Nissan engineers are smart enough to know this. I highly doubt they would make a modification that would make the car more unwieldy, especially if they plan on adding more hp.

I think nissan is trying to increase the drivers feel in the steering area, where alot of people say it has no soul..

Some rumours floating around are that the 2012 GT-R will have a significant increase in torque and have a new edition of the L.C Launch Control (LC3) will have the revs @ 4500rpm before the brake is released, So id say Nissan wouldn't have any concerns about the transmission at this stage of the GT-Rs evolution process.
Nissan says the 2012 GT-R will set a new bench mark above the already existing R35s outstanding performance and that the new Nurburgring lap time will be in the Porsche 911 GT2 RS territory (7.18)
