The thing really is a mess from every angle. It just has to be designed by the ham-fisted committee that did the previous generation of 4Runners. What an awful level to sink.

i think it looks awsome... donno what people are complaining abt... It has clearly crushed the so called A7... the interior is pretty good... better thn the current one... all i am waiting for is the bmw's answer...

The original CLS looks pure and a million times sexier, elegant and bespoke than this. It is a total mess slabbed with an ugly single bar and cheap chicken fence grille and various of sharp, soft and aggressive lines all over the car. Guess Hyundai made a better evolution of the original CLS design with their Sonata better than Merc designers and way prettier too.

i think it looks very very good. i think the interior isnt as dramatic as the previous one, or maybe its because carbon and not wood. But please, lets reserve all true comments until we see em' at the stoplight

Phew. The official release! Now that we've taken away the massive 20' 'turbine' alloys seen on the brochure car in the 18th August article, I can truly 'squint' at this car more closely. The design of the front-end is 'heavy-handed' where it could have looked more 'wraith-like'. It has left the CLS looking more like the saloons. However, the use of complex concave curves and retention of its 'pillar-less' B-post ensures that the coupe profile is retained. The interior is quality. isaacu

That interior frankly is pure crap compared to the current model's. The oversized bonnet, mess of curves and lines, the LED fiasco going on in the front. I knew Mercedes could never make anything that can replace the timeless beauty of the original. Great job screwing this up.

Just take a look at the second picture where the car is painted red. So awesome. It's gonna look better in real life. In these studio pics you can really see all the shapes and lines on the side but once you don't have studio lightning and you paint it black it is absolutely stunning. Interios is awesome. The old car was amazing. This is different but still amazing. If you don't like this one it takes nothing away from the previous model.

Exterior looks amazing and seductive. I can't compare original model and new - they have different style, but both look awesome. But interior looks poor in comparsion with old CLS

I think from the start we all knew that it was impossible to better the current CLS design wise, thats a classic and honestly this is bettet than what I expected. I can just see this on the road.... Its gonna be beautiful!

beautiful car, the rear needs to be a little more dramatic, like the 1st generation if you ask me. If I had my choice between this and the 1st generation, both brand new, I would take the 1st. It will forever be such a beautiful car.

I don't get it! I could do with the exterior looks, but the interior sucks big time! Overall the precedent model was far more beautifull than this one, very close to the original drawings. And if you look at the drawings for this one, you can easily see that they could have done a much better job, esspecially when you see the sketch with the white front fascia and even the interior design with the all-wood design of the cockpit. Somewhere on the road they really made a mess out of a worthy succesor for the outgoing model. Thanks for nothing M-B! Bleah!
