I think it will be cool. The 914 was an awesome car, and I welcome any car to the Porsche family. I love Porsche, and I doubt they'll slack on the design of this car. Just because the car isn't expensive doesn't mean it's ugly. I also think this new car will be a good light-weight modern club racer.

Good move. There is place for this car in Porsche line and i hope it will be just like first porsches, built by Ferdinand, were - with idea of performance thanks to lightness. Lots of aluminium and light materials, small, turbocharged engine, great quality, Porsche badge and there we have a winner. Good move Porsche, this is going back to the roots, not the stupid Cayenne hybrid.

100,000 units/year worldwide shouldn't be a problem! Porsche, Audi, VW and Seat sound like worthy marques for this model. Couldn't see a Skoda roadster happening :) How about altering the Boxster chassis and building a ?50k Lambo? Now THAT would sell!

boxster/caymen moving upscale? or just upsize? like 10 cm?
what they really need for the longest time is a Cayman RS / Clubsport / etc that gives no mercy to the 911. as it is right now, it is stuck below the 911. an entry level porsche can be fun. please keep it simple and pure porsche. let audi and VW have their own versions that cater to their buyers.

Make it light and fun like a 356.. and I'd say they've got a winner. No more fat Porsches!! I don't care how bad ass they are.

All I can say, is don't toy with us on this one. It's far too serious and sensitive to tease like this.
Heck, just build the Bluesport. I don't care what badge you put on it; it was a fresh design, one of only s few over the last ten years.
