Powerkit costs ?16,695.70

Porsche has announced several new additions to the individualization program for the Panamera.

The Powerkit (€16,695.70) for the Panamera Turbo features two new turbochargers (with titanium / aluminum turbine wheels) and a revised ECU. These modifications enable the 4.8-liter V8 to produce 532 bhp (403 kW / 540 PS) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque - an increase of 39 bhp (29 kW / 40 PS) and 50 Nm (37 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to the extra power, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and hits a top speed of 305 km/h (190 mph).

On the styling front, Porsche offers the Sport Design Package (€4,581.50). It adds a revised front bumper, new side skirts, and a body-colored rear apron and diffuser. Customers can also purchase the side skirts (€969.85) independently of the package.

Lastly, the company has unveiled a new set of 20-inch light alloy wheels (€1,588.65+) which measure 9.5 inches wide in front and 11.5 inches wide in the rear. They are available in body color, GT silver metallic, or black.

Starting in September, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, will offer a Powerkit for the Panamera Turbo, which will raise engine output by 40 hp to 540 hp. Moreover, a Sport Design Package and the new 20-inch Panamera Sport wheels will widen the individualization programme for the Gran Turismo range.

Key elements of this Panamera Turbo Powerkit are two new turbochargers with titanium aluminium turbine wheels. Engine management has been adapted accordingly and thus, the result is an appreciable further improvement of the engine's response. Maximum torque rises to 750 Nm. If in overboost mode included in the Sport Chrono package which is available ex factory as part of the Panamera Turbo Powerkit, it goes up to 800 Nm. In Sport Plus mode, the Panamera Turbo accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 sec – 0.1 sec faster than the production car. Top speed is 305 km/h compared with 303 km/h of the production vehicles. With 11.5 ltr/100 km (24.6 mpg imp) during the NEDC test cycle, fuel consumption of an Panamera Turbo with Powerkit is not higher than that of the 500 hp production model. This, too, is what Porsche Intelligent Performance means to Porsche. As a Porsche Exclusive option, the Powerkit is available from September 2010 at a price of Euro 16,695.70 including VAT. Porsche Tequipment will launch the Powerkit as a retrofit kit from November 2010.

With its new Sport Design Package, Porsche offers its Panamera customers another possibility to customize their cars optically. The package includes a unique, exterior colour painted front end with widened black air intake grilles, separate side skirts and the standard, exterior colour painted rear underbody apron with diffuser and fins.

Starting in October 2010, the Sport Design Package will be available from Porsche Exclusive, or for retrofitting from Porsche Tequipment. The price from Porsche Exclusive is Euro 4,581.50 including VAT. On request, side skirts can be supplied separately at a price of Euro 969.85 including VAT.

For an especially sporting performance with enhanced appearance and driving dynamics, the third feature of the extended range of options offered for the Panamera are the new 20-inch Panamera Sport wheels. The light alloy multi-spoke wheel is 9.5" wide on the front axle, and 11.5" on the rear axle. Thus, it does not only have a larger tyre contact area but is also flush with the wheel arch. The wheels are available from Porsche Exclusive in GT silver metallic, black, or in the car colour from Euro 1,588.65 including VAT, and from Porsche Tequipment in GT silver metallic and black for
retrofitting.

With its Porsche Exclusive and Porsche Tequipment programmes, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, offers you the possibility to enhance each Porsche model beyond its standard equipment to fit your personal and exclusive wishes: from the factory through Porsche Exclusive, or in each Porsche Centre through Tequipment

I need at least 532hp in anything I can get it in. If they sold a moped with that much horsepower I would definitely consider buying. Like I always say, there is no such thing as too much horsepower, just too little control. If you don't need all the horsepower at that moment then don't push the pedal to the floor. I at least like to have the option of loosing control.

WCF forgot to add the most beautiful picture of the Sport Design Package announcement in their gallery, this one: http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/7041/porsche3.jpg by the way, in July the Panamera was the 3rd best selling luxury vehicle here in germany, which is simply amazing! (thx to the "special" roofline which provides 2 proper back seats) sales ranking - luxury segment (July 2010, germany): 1.S-class 2.A8 3.Panamera 4.7-series
