Our spy photographers have managed to snap the first pictures of the AMG package for the Mercedes GL.
Undergoing testing in Death Valley, the vehicle features a revised front bumper, AMG wheels, and a high performance braking system with cross-drilled rotors. While we can't see it, the package may also include a modified exhaust and a sportier suspension.
Despite the likelihood that this is simply an AMG package, speculation suggests this vechile could be an early prototype for an AMG version of the 2012 GL-Class. As our spies point out, the 2012 ML AMG has been spotted with dual exhaust pipes - instead of the traditional quad pipes - like the ones used on this GL. Combine that with the knowledge that the current model is a lame duck, and it seems odd that Mercedes would launch an AMG package this late in the game.
