Production limited to 100 units

Following a teaser illustration released in June, Morgan has released a new sketch showing more details of the EvaGT, ahead of its debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on August 15th.

While details are limited, the car will feature an aluminum chassis (from the Aero SuperSports) and sleek styling.

Power will be provided by a BMW-sourced twin-turbo straight-six engine with 306 PS (225 kW / 302 hp) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. It will enable the 1,250kg (2,755 pound) EvaGT to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 273 km/h (170 mph). In terms of efficiency, the two-plus-two coupe will have a fuel consumption rating of 7 liters/100 km (33.6 mpg US) in the combined cycle.

Speaking with Autocar, Charles Morgan said "Our goal with the EvaGT is to manufacture a practical car that could be used every day and answer all of a family's transport needs." He added, "The EvaGT will be fun to drive, with sensitive hydraulic power steering and excellent chassis balance. The mass is evenly distributed within the axles and the car has short overhangs."

The car will go into production in 2012 and only 100 units will be built.
