as i said before Tii is a better name , and again as i said before you can get 335HP in performance package so it should be higher than that.

No you shouldn't get more than 335bhp. If you want more, get an M3. This car is not to overshadow the M3. "You can get 335HP in performance package": you get more than just extra horsepower in this car.

I thought this was gonna be a e46 m3 successor but these new turbocharged M power engines sound boring. It might be the spiritual successor to the m3(my opinion) but I miss the old high revving, sound like they gonna break NA powered bmw's of the past.

I miss the old Straight 6, the S54 B32 that are used in E46 M3 and Z4M, especially the one in the M3 CSL, that one sounds fantastic with its Carbon air box
So why couldn't they use that? emission?

I also miss the straight 6. And yeah, it's because of emissions. It's a shame. I'd rather they develop the straight 6 to be more fuel efficient.

I am super sure that the power figures will be higher then what this article has stated.

I am super sure that the power figures will be higher then what this article has stated. I don't think the N54 will be used at all. N55 maybe....

As much as the N54 motor was a great peice in the M history the motor was very expensive to maintain. I personally owned a Comp. Package E46 and as much as it was one of my favorite cars to own and drive the valve adjustments and service to the SMG was brutal on the wallet. An oil change and service on my 911 including the spark plug change still came in cheaper than the 60K(I think that was the biggest one for me)on the M3. And the motor was very thirsty. So I understand the people that love the N54 as I did as well but it did have its problems as well and running cost is one of the biggest let downs for that motor. But if I cold add any car to my collection it would for sure be the E30 fully restored which I am sure would be a lot more than the E46 when it comes to maintaining it LOL.

The driver has a childlike grin on his face. That sums up the true potential of this 1series! The M3's crown is dangerously up for grabs. Hope BMW don't allow product cannibalism to mess up their game!
