Lifetime warranty that only covers 100,000 miles? I guess Vauxhall expect that its cars will only last 100,000 miles???

That's exactly what I thought. Doesn't really give a good image on the reliability. Oh well, whatever, I'm never going to get me an Opel anyways.

weel it's a good marketing campaign cause 100,000 miles= about 8-10 yrs...still pretty good.

Unprecedented? Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep offered lifetime powertrain warranties for about 2 years just recently.

This is the whole car. That makes a difference as it's very often electrics that pack in before an engine. Smart move, although it is somewhat disengenuous to call it a lifetime warranty then put a mileage limit on it. But then I suppose any warranty, even Kia's 7 year warranty, has a corresponding mileage limit which will end the term sooner if reached earlier.

I wonder if Opel do the same. Sounds nice but to celebrate we need to know exacly all conditions. Like to me it's about 8 yrs riding =)

As far as I know, here in the UK car brand KIA have been the only manufacturer offering a 7 year warranty, something that's attracted a lot of customers. A lifetime/100,000 mile warranty is only worthwhile if Vauxhall made cars worth keeping for a lifetime. Another Lotus tuned VX220 roadster turbo would be nice. Not a fan of the wayward Manaro/Holden muscle cars.

Well if that's 8-10 years, that's still as long as you're likely to own a family car. Our old family wagon was with us for 11 years, but because it was Japanese, it didn't really need a warranty.

Ooop! The Koreans got there first! At least Vauxhall are making cars that are worth looking at now.
