Rendered Speculation: Audi A7 Coupe

32-year-old self-described "Automotive Manipulator" Theophilus Chin has a theory about the Audi A7.  He believes that the German automaker should produce an Audi A7 Coupe, and considering they have both sportback and coupe models of the A5, it is by no means a stretch of the imagination.

Chin created these renderings to show the potential for such a car.  If built, the length of the coupe could be 10 full centimeters shorter than the sportback, with height coming down a bit as well.  It would likely use the same four engines already in production for the A7, including the 2.8- and 3.0-liter petrol engines producing 201 and 295 hp (150 and 220 kW), and two 3.0-liter diesel units.  The diesels produce 201 and 241 hp (150 and 180 kW).

"I think it looks alright, even better than the Sportback," Chin said on his website.  "This will be a good rival to the Mercedes-Benz CL-Class ... and BMW’s next 6-Series."

Either way, it's a nice dream from a guy who's been collecting Autocar magazine for 17 years.
