Next-generation Passat still under heavy camouflage

Here is a set of spy shots of the VW Passat wagon/estate major facelift model doing some hot weather testing in heavy camouflage.

These shots of the wagon variant Passat were taken in Death Valley, which means warm climate testing, which also means one of the latter stages of the development process. The 2012 VW Passat facelift will debut sometime next year.

We can expect the next Passat to come with the usual array of four-cylinder diesel and petrol engine variants, a top-end V6 petrol/gasoline version, VW's DSG gearbox and perhaps even a BlueMotion hybrid variant too.

New technologies include improved LED lighting, exterior cameras, a self-park system, and a wiper-less windshield.

that wiper-less windshield is confusing me. if it is supposed to be cleaned with air stream, how can it be functional at low speeds? and you can see that this test vehicle has wipers:)

Not to destroy your hope, but it's always more evolution than revolution when it comes to VW

No, You didn't ;-) I'm not expecting too much. It was rather kinda joke, what do they cover this so much for if there's nothing revolutionar underneath...
