Customers in the U.K. interested in picking up the Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari will have to shell out £29,600 (€35,500) to pick up a right-hand drive model.  An improvement on the Abarth 500, itself an improvement on the Fiat 500C, the 695 Tributo will be limited to 152 units.

The car uses a 1368 cc turbocharged engine that produces 180 hp (134 kW) and up to 250 Nm of torque.  While delivering combined fuel economy of 43.3 mpg (UK), the 695 still manages to hit 100 km/h in seven seconds.  The car's top speed is 140 mph.

Abarth says they wanted to create a vehicle "with stunning performance matched to perfect day-to-day usability."  Its performance is highlighted by a Scuderia Red paint job, grey racing stripes outlined in black, Corsa Grey 17-inch alloy wheels, and matching grille.  It also has carbon fiber wing mirrors.

"Abarth and Ferrari are both iconic names in Italian automotive history," said Abarth UK chief Ivan Gibson in a press release. "Their passion and dedication helped to create a reputation for sporting excellence in Italian cars around the world, and this new Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari upholds that tradition with some style."

The car also features the Abarth Competizione electro-hydraulic semi-automatic gearbox that can be controlled by paddle shifters.  A dashboard-mounted Sport button gives a racier setting to the engine control unit, gearbox and steering.  Stability control, torque transfer, dual-mode exhaust, sport seats and a leather steering wheel are all part of the package along with five airbags, Xenon headlights, Bluetooth-capable infotainment system, climate control, and power steering.

Special orders will soon be accepted at the 17 Abarth dealerships in the UK.

ABARTH 695 TRIBUTO FERRARI ROARS INTO VIEW - IN RIGHT HAND DRIVE

It has already attracted critical acclaim in both hard top and convertible form, and as a potent esseesse version. Now the Abarth 500 is arriving in even more exclusive style - as the Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari.

Every Abarth reflects the high performance brand's direct connection with competition, and the new 695 Tributo Ferrari takes these links to a new level, with stunning performance matched to perfect day-to-day usability.

This exclusive car - just 152 examples of the Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari will be available in right hand drive form in Britain - is priced at Euros 35,500 (£29,600). On the outside the new car's livery is inspired by Ferrari's models, with carbon wing mirrors and Corsa Grey wheels and front air intakes.

Powered by a 1368cc turbocharged engine, producing 180bhp at 5500rpm and 250Nm torque at 3000rpm, the 695 Tributo Ferrari can accelerate from 0-62mph in seven seconds and has a top speed of 140mph. However, the frugal engine can return 43.3mpg on the combined cycle.

The car features a comprehensive list of equipment which includes:

  • five airbags
  • electronic stability programme (ESP)
  • torque transfer control (TTC)
  • Sport button
  • power steering
  • automatic climate control
  • Xenon headlights
  • Blue&Me hands-free infotainment
  • Abarth leather steering wheel
  • ‘Record Monza' dual-mode exhaust
  • Abarth Corsa by Sabelt seats
  • 17-inch alloy wheels

Mounted behind the steering wheel are the paddles for the electro-hydraulic Abarth Competizione gearbox which has manual and auto modes. Pressing the Sport button on the dashboard activates a more racy setting for the gearbox, engine control unit and steering for an even more responsive drive.

The original Abarth 695 was introduced in the mid-1960s. The pinnacle of this series was a 38hp engine - though fine-tuning could raise this to over 50hp.

"Abarth and Ferrari are both iconic names in Italian automotive history," says Ivan Gibson, head of Abarth in the UK. "Their passion and dedication helped to create a reputation for sporting excellence in Italian cars around the world, and this new Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari upholds that tradition with some style."

The Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari is available to special order only, through Abarth's 17-strong UK dealer network.

are you serious?? it's so gay, it's so "ferrari-wanne-be" and it costs so much, how can this be good value, when you can have Clio RS for much much less?

@kimbo: First of all, watch your mouth. You're comment about it being so Ferrari wanna-be is poorly thought out. This is supposed to be tribute to Ferrari, so it is going to have a similar paintjob and reminiscent styling cues. The performance is undeniably good for a hot hatch, and it looks way better than any other hatchback available. And who the hell wants a Clio? Oh, and you misspelled wannA-be, it's an a, not an e.

Very nice looking car, I personally like 500, it looks really retro and actual at the same time. But seriosly, those 35000€ could be a Scirocco R, a Focus RS and many more hot hatches and cool cars. Of course this one is a limited special edition, but anyway too expensive.

You have got to be kidding. £30k for a Fiat 500? Yes, it may have a Ferrari tag, but spending £30k on this car will make you look like a complete tool.
