German tuning firm Novitec Tridente has released a new tuning package for the Maserati Quattroporte.  Modifications to the eight-cylinder 4.7-liter engine boost power by over 37 percent.

This means a jump of 160 hp (118 kW) on the Quattroporte S to a total 590 hp (434 kW).  Torque on the engine is improved by allmost 17 percent to a maximum of 572 Nm (422 lb-ft).  On its own, the engine converstion costs a minimum €19,900.

It translates to a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of 4.6 seconds, and 14.9 seconds to 200 km/h (124 mph).  Top speed on the car is 295 km/h (183 mph).

The engine tuning package is also available for the Quattroporte Sport GT S.  Mods include a cogged-belt-driven mechanical supercharger with 0.35 bar boost pressure, water-to-air intercooler, with its own water circulation system, larger injectors, and a custom intake manifold.  Naturally, the engine control unit was also adapted.

Customers can also order three-piece 21-inch wheels measuring 9J in front and 11J in back, wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires.  To add to the car's sporty look, engineers also developed a new carbon fiber rear spoiler.  A coil-over suspension is available with several settings and continuous height adjustment.

New interior equipment may also be purchased, such as leather, Alcantara, and various entertainment equipment.  Pricing on non-engine related modifications were not revealed.

NOVITEC TRIDENTE Tunes the Maserati Quattroporte

590 hp / 434 kW and 572 Nm Through Compressor Technology

Superior performance through NOVITEC TRIDENTE Compressor Technology: With a rated power output of 590 hp / 434 kW and a peak torque of 572 Nm NOVITEC TRIDENTE establishes the two Maserati models Quattroporte S and Sport GT S among the most powerful luxury sedans in the world. Additionally the tuner enhances the cars' appearance and driving dynamics with three-piece 21-inch wheels, a height-adjustable coil-over suspension and a carbon-fiber rear spoiler. Exclusive interior upgrades are yet another NOVITEC TRIDENTE specialty.

Superlative driving thanks to superior engine power combined with exceptional engine smoothness: That is the philosophy behind the new NOVITEC TRIDENTE SPORT compressor engine for the Maserati luxury sedans Quattroporte S and Quattroporte Sport GT S.

The specialists of the German company adapted a cogged-belt-driven mechanical charger to the 4.7-liter eight-cylinder four-valve engine. Maximum boost pressure is limited to 0.35 bar. A water-to-air intercooler with dedicated water circulation ensures healthy operating temperatures for the engine. The NOVITEC TRIDENTE SPORT compressor conversion is rounded out by a custom intake manifold and larger injectors. Newly calibrated engine electronics ensure optimal power yield, longevity and compliance with strict Euro IV emission limits.

After the engine conversion, which starts at 19,900 Euros, the Italian luxury sedan delivers high-end performance figures: Rated power output of the Quattroporte S jumps from standard 430 hp / 318 kW to 590 hp / 434 kW at 7,300 rpm. Simultaneously peak torque grows from 490 Nm to 572 Nm.

In combination with the six-speed automatic transmission the NOVITEC TRIDENTE luxury sedan delivers excellent driving performance as well: A sprint time of just 4.6 seconds from rest to 100 km/h and 14.9 seconds to 200 km/h are truly exceptional in this class. Just as impressive is the car's new top speed of 295 km/h.

To transfer this tremendous performance potential to the road as safely as possible NOVITEC TRIDENTE have developed a custom-tailored tire/wheel combination for the Quattroporte. The three-piece alloy wheels with five double spokes perfectly fill out the available space in the wheel wells. The size 9Jx21 wheels on the front axle are mounted with Pirelli P Zero high-performance tires in size 255/30 ZR 21. In the rear size 295/30 ZR 21 tires on size 11Jx21 wheels provide optimal traction.

The new wheels play a large part in the sporty yet elegant appearance of the upgraded luxury sedan. For added sporty emphasis NOVITEC TRIDENTE offers an understated rear spoiler made from clear-coated carbon fiber.

The NOVITEC TRIDENTE sport suspension is specifically calibrated to the 21-inch high-performance tires. It allows owners of the Quattroporte to dial-in a setup that suits their individual preferences. The suspension is continuously height-adjustable and features multiple settings for compression and rebound.

NOVITEC TRIDENTE also offers numerous options for a stylish customization of the interior of the luxury sedan. The options range from a custom-tailored interior crafted from the finest leather or Alcantara to a state-of-the-art multimedia equipment package with TV, Blu-Ray player and high-speed internet connection on wheels.

I would be happy with just 550hp, but 590hp, oh yeah. They do have a kit for the Gran Turismo S as well, to 600 hp with slight higher boost on the supercharger

Great car. Stylish and now with a huge power. You may forget about Panamera Turbo. In fact I wouldn't even think of Panamera standing in the Maserati showroom. With 590hp I would even forget about Aston Martin Rapide.

THIS is the sort of performance that Maserati should be offering, not the pathetically slow models they currently offer.Current HP outputs on both cars is an embarrassment, not worthy of a Maserati badge.Once again Germans rectify the problem.

I agree. The Quattroporte should have always been this fast.

I disagree with you. You see Maserati is not making cars to win power race between brands. Granturismo is a grand tourer, luxurious coupe for extraordinary people who don't have to proof anything. Quattroporte is a beautiful sport saloon with nice, quite powerful engine to contemplate design, quality and sound. It's enough for those who are interested of buying Maserati car, those customers who wants more powerful and faster cars are directed to Ferrari. It used to be said: Maserati are for gentlemen, playboys buy Ferrari.

I understand that and I totally see where you're coming from. I should have phrased what I said differently. I agree that the Maserati is good enough the way it is. I just wish they made a faster version, like a Sport GT-R or what have you. I think that they could pull it off without taking away from the gentleman aspect. It's just that the way I see it, Maser is certainly capable of making a brilliant super fast 4-door. Though I wouldn't liken the Quattroporte to Ferrari so easily because Ferrari does not make a saloon.

Francois,Maserati?s name is synonymise with motor racing & speed. They have more motor racing history than Ferrari. They should be building FAST cars, especially when they are charging considerably more money than faster & more reliable German rivals.

This is one of the best tuning jobs I have ever seen. Why? Because Novitec has given the Quattroporte exactly what it needs. Power to compete against the M5, E63, and RS6. Nothing more, nothing less. Granted that there should have always been a version of the Q-Porte this fast, it's nice to see that someone has stepped in to make it a great car. Companies like Tridente, Alpina, etc...who have the same philosophy contribute positively to the automotive industry. Mansory, take a hint.

When Germans meet Italians...think Audi/Lambo. Nice. However, this has it's own merit as Novitec has proved they are not Novice Tech guys, but ProTec. They cranked up the BHP (and torque) but left the Maser Q-Porte's USP well alone, the design. Hope other tuning outfits from Germany are taking note of this masterpiece in simplicity. Nice shoes too.
